Cleanliness and Maintenance
This place isn’t quite “open to the elements”, even though the glamping has a certain amount of screening from the local jungle, and it’s cleaner than the average jungle resort because of it.
However, no matter how hard cleaning and maintenance teams work in these locations, occasionally something slips through the cracks; that’s just the nature of this kind of resort, rather than a criticism.
Sleep Quality
We found that we slept very well here and thought that the rooms were well-maintained and had comfortable beds, bedding, mattresses, etc.
However, there is a little noise that’s discernible from the nearby road at times; there’s not much they can do about this, mind you. They’ve already built a wall to try to keep the noise out.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff here to be excellent and really focused on delivering a great experience. The owners (a lovely couple) regularly come by to check on things, too.
It’s got that genuine Balinese hospitality vibe going for it, and we very much appreciated the efforts made for us.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out is a perfectly adequate experience, and you won’t be spending too much time, if any, hanging around to get into your room.
This is, of course, an advantage of a small family-run property, and it’s always welcome after a long flight.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We thought that the bathrooms were very good with decent towels, toiletries, fixtures and fittings.
However, we did notice that the water pressure was occasionally quite variable; we think that’s something to do with when all the other guests are showering at the same time.
Value For Money
We found Sebatu Sanctuary Eco Resort to be very good, approaching excellent value for money, and we’d certainly be happy to come back and stay here again on the same terms.
Food And Beverage Execution
Evicurious Restaurant is an exceptional hotel restaurant and one that deserves to be better known. The quality of food is first-rate, and we noticed that several regulars were from other nearby hotels with rather poorer in-house offerings.
Yes, we’d come back here just to eat, and really, we can’t wait to do so.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This is a nice location, very safe with some gorgeous views. You’re also not too far from Ubud when you want more to do.
However, traffic in and out of the Ubud area can be a nightmare at times, so be prepared for short journeys that take a long time.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We felt that they had an above-average amount of facilities for this style of resort and that they were all in very good shape.
Everything that was mentioned online was present and accounted for, too.
Overall “Personality”
The Sebatu Sanctuary Eco Resort is overflowing with personality and we were very impressed with this place and will remember for it a long time to come.
The owners should be very much congratulated for creating a genuinely boutique experience in the jungle.
