There aren’t very many all-inclusive resorts in Bali, and we think that’s for good reason. In general, we’ve found that the “all-inclusive” element is often more expensive than just paying as you go.
However, at Club Med Bali, not only is all your food and drink included, but they also throw in a huge range of activities and facilities.
Would this be enough to balance out the curse of the all-inclusive resorts on the island? Our team went to find out, and this is what we learned.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that the cleanliness standards in Club Med Bali were generally very good, and we rarely found something that the cleaning team had missed, even when pulling things out to check behind them.
However, there’s no doubt that this resort has seen better years, and while the maintenance team does a great job, some parts of the place look tired and in need of refreshing.
Sleep Quality
This is a family resort, and there are a lot of kids running around making a lot of noise. So, if you like to sleep in, you may find that noise from the corridors leaks into your room.
Otherwise, the sleep quality is very good with comfortable beds, nice mattresses and decent linen and pillows. Though we would note that the rooms could use a little refurbishment, too, they’re looking a little old.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff at Club Med Bali to be very good and in keeping with the high standards that we expect from resorts in Bali in general.
They are very much focused on delivering an excellent guest experience and seem to be empowered to do so.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in and check-out processes are fit for purpose, and we felt that we were in our rooms quickly enough on arrival.
They can keep luggage after check-out if you need to explore the area a little before leaving for somewhere else.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We felt the bathrooms were adequate to the task and had decent toiletries and towels. But the fixtures and fittings were all a little old, and they definitely need to refresh the bathrooms here, now. They’re not bad, but we’ve seen much better.
Value For Money
There’s no getting around the fact that the whole “all-inclusive” deal is rarely a good deal unless you eat like a hog, drink like a fish and attempt to take advantage of every single facility in the resort.
And that principle is true here; we liked Club Med Bali, but we can’t find it in ourselves to report it as anything other than below average value. You’re paying for things that most people will never consume.
We suspect that’s why the resort goes out of its way to force you to contact a sales team to get a price per night.
Food And Beverage Execution
It’s an all-inclusive resort, and that means you’re not getting fine dining or anything approaching it. But for what it is, it’s very good.
Would you choose to come here just to eat? We very much doubt it, given how many great restaurants you’d have to drive past to get here. But, you won’t be leaving the resort to find snacks, either.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
The location is very nice, and the beach is one of the best in Bali. However, Nusa Dua isn’t great for people who enjoy walking around – there’s not much within walking distance.
You’ll also need transportation to get around and see more of the island, and be warned, the bottlenecks for traffic off the Bukit Peninsula add a lot of time to the journey.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We felt that Club Med had one of the best collections of facilities that we’ve seen in Bali. There’s something for everyone and at nearly all hours of the day and night, too.
It’s all in good condition too though, we should point out that we still feel that you’re overpaying compared to what you’d use based on the costs of being “all inclusive”.
Overall “Personality”
Surprisingly, we do feel that Club Med Bali has its own unique character and it has that kind of vibe that you’re going to want to talk about with friends and family when you get home.

Club Med Bali is only going to appeal to people who insist on an all-inclusive experience, but if that’s you? Well, this is a decent place with a lot to do.
And you really don’t have many all-inclusive options on this island, anyway.

Yes, Club Med Bali is very family-friendly, and with almost all activities and consumables included in the room fee, this makes it very easy to let your kids go and do what they want without worrying about the bill.
However, despite the excellent range of children’s facilities here, we would note that the costs of the all-inclusive arrangement are often more than just paying for these things as you need them in other resorts.

Final Thoughts On Club Med Bali
If you really like being certain of how much you’re going to spend on holiday before you arrive at your destination, or you like to consume huge amounts of food and drinks on your trips, Club Med Bali represents a good choice.
However, it comes at a very substantial price premium over other similar level resorts and while you might have to pay for some of the activities in addition to food and beverages at those resorts? We think most people will still find it cheaper.
So, would we recommend Club Med Bali? Yes, if you understand the above and it still appeals to you, it’s a very good hotel, even if we don’t think it’s the best value for money.
