Anvaya Review, Jimbaran, Bali: A Plush Beach Resort Not Too Far From The Airport

Given the Bali traffic, it can be tempting to spend your first few days on the island fairly close to the airport while you recover from the flight.

Anvaya fits that bill perfectly, but don’t worry, it’s not so close to the flight path that you’ll be listening to plane engines while you should be counting sheep.

It also looks very pretty in the marketing material, so our team was keen to spend some time at Anvaya and see for themselves what this resort is like. And this is what they discovered there.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that the Anvaya was cleaned to a basic standard, but that if you move things around in the rooms, some of it clearly hasn’t had a dusting underneath it in a while.

The standard of maintenance seemed to be pretty good, though, and we had no issues with anything during our stay.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

It’s not the resort’s fault that some of their guests can get a bit boisterous after a few drinks, but it is their fault that rooms aren’t soundproofed against this.

Otherwise, the beds are a decent size and very comfortable. Most of the time, you will have a great night’s sleep here, but occasionally, you may not.

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We found the staff at Anvaya to be very friendly and professional, and most of the time, they handled our issues very well.

However, there does seem to be a bit of a micro-management culture here, and sometimes things need to be kicked a way up the chain to get a resolution.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in process is decent enough; you’re not going to spend too long waiting to check in, even though this is a fairly large resort, and you’ll soon be in your room.

However, the 11 a.m. check-out time feels like a joke; there seems to be an industry trend towards later and later check-in times and earlier and earlier check-out. It’s not something we approve of.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are of a decent size, the water pressure is OK, and the toiletries supplied were good enough too. The towels weren’t our favourites, but they were more than good enough to ge you dried in relative comfort.

Rating:

Value For Money

Given the location, we expected Anvaya to be more expensive than it was. It’s very good value for money given the overall package, and that’s nothing to be sneezed at.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

We felt that Sands Restaurant was exceptional and the best part of staying at this resort. We’d come back just to eat here, in fact, even without staying at Anvaya.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

Jimbaran is an attractive area, and while there’s not a huge amount to do in the area, you can easily walk to the beach and enjoy a seafood BBQ, which is what Jimbaran is most famous for.

Bali is an island nation, and the seafood here is always good, but it’s extremely good in Jimbaran.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

We felt that the facilities and amenities were as promised in the marketing material and that they were all serviceable and enjoyable. But nothing really stood out to us as “best in class” either.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

The hotel is attractive and interesting enough, but we don’t feel that it stands out in our memory, even now, only a few days after having stayed there.

It looks nice in Instagram photos, but there’s nothing to hook you either.

Summary: Our Overview Of Anvaya

There’s something to be said for staying near the airport, and Anvaya is a very nice resort on a decent strip of coastline here in Bali.

Overall, we felt that the facilities were as advertised, and Sands Restaurant was a real highlight of our stay here.

We’d be happy to recommend this as a place for a quick stop to recover from a flight or before departing Bali.

FAQs

Is Anvaya Family Friendly?

Yes, Anvaya is family-friendly, and children are welcome throughout the resort. They have the Anvaya Kids Club, which caters to little ones between the ages of 4 and 12.

That means you can leave your children in the care of trained childcare professionals and enjoy some relaxation, while your kids play with other kids and enjoy games, activities and crafts.

Parents who have stayed in the resort say that their children made a lot of friends during their stay at Anvaya.

Final Thoughts On Anvaya

Anvaya’s location is excellent, and we think the main draw of staying in this part of Bali. However, there’s no doubt that the onsite restaurant is excellent and we’d go back just for the food.

Overall, it’s a good resort with some minor issues. It’s ideal as a stepping off point for Bali or for a last night’s rest before your flight home.
