This excellent resort stars in our best luxury resorts in Bali roundup, and at this price, that’s a serious achievement. It’s also one of the finest places to stay in Ubud.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
COMO have a great reputation in Bali, and you don’t get that kind of reputation without paying attention to the details.
The cleaning crew at this hotel are first rate, and the maintenance crew is in the same league. We had no issues during our stay, and everything was spotless, even those hard-to-reach places some cleaners neglect.
Sleep Quality
Similarly, the most important part of a hotel stay is a good night’s sleep, and COMO provides big beds, excellent mattresses and comfortable pillows.
And the rooms don’t leak sound or light, so you are guaranteed the right conditions for a perfect kip. There’s not even any need to count sheep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff at this hotel are excellent, friendly, professional and proactive, always seeking to raise the level of your experience with every interaction.
If there are any issues, they’ll take action to put things right; there’s no messing about with supervisors.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out were straightforward and certainly didn’t entail too much waiting around before we were in (or out of) our rooms.
The hotel will happily store bags for you if you need them prior to check-in or after you check out.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are amazing, and we wish our own bathrooms were as nice. They are big, spacious, with excellent water pressure.
The toiletries, towels and fine details are all spot on, and you’ll enjoy getting clean in this space.
Value For Money
We thought COMO Ubud was almost unbeatable value for money. You rarely get a room in a hotel of this quality for such a reasonable price (and in low season, you can get some incredible deals on the rates).
Food And Beverage Execution
UMA Cucina is an amazing restaurant that’s worth visiting even if you’re not staying in the hotel, and the other F&B outlets are also of a very high standard.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This location is a little out of Ubud centre, but there are still some things within walking distance, and the overall area is lovely.
However, you will need transportation if you want to properly explore Ubud.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We felt that the facilities and amenities were as advertised and fully delivered on their promise. However, this was one area that we felt they could improve on with a larger offering.
Overall “Personality”
This is a gorgeous property that will absolutely linger in your mind’s eye and dreams long after you check out. You’ll take lots of pictures, for sure, but the memories you make here are likely to last forever.

COMO Ubud was just recognised as the best hotel in the country and in the world by Conde Nast’s readers; that’s huge, and in our opinion, it’s not unmerited.
This hotel is world class and every aspect of our stay here was enjoyable and rich. We’d be happy to recommend it to anyone and everyone.
It’s also not that expensive, which makes it one of the best hotels in its price bracket too, by far.

Yes, COMO Ubud is a family-friendly resort. There are options for interconnecting rooms, or you could go with the two-bedroom villa to ensure your family is all together throughout the holiday.
The resort doesn’t offer a huge number of kid-friendly activities or services, but it does have child-friendly dining options as well as babysitting services (available for an additional fee).
Given that Ubud has plenty to see and do, we doubt your kids will be in the hotel for long enough to get bored here.
