Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that the cleaning and maintenance teams at this hotel did a very good job and overall, things were excellent.
However, there are parts of the hotel showing signs of wear and tear that might be upgraded to improve the guest experience slightly.
Sleep Quality
The beds are very good and there’s adequate airflow throughout the room to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.
We also didn’t notice any noise or light pollution which is important to be well rested before a flight.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are very friendly and pleasant at this hotel and they typify the Balinese hospitality culture that people come to this island to enjoy.
No, it’s not quite as polished as some places, but it is round the clock and very attentive. Call down for extra pillows after midnight? No problem. And they arrive within minutes too.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Checking in is easy and if you need help getting your bags to your room, it will be made avaialble and there’s no need to tip.
Check out is also easy and that’s very important at an airport hotel, because you may need to leave the moment you awaken.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are OK, but on the smaller side for Bali. The toiletries and towels are OK too. We doubt anyone will even remember these bathrooms a minute after checkout.
They’re functional but nothing like fantastic.
Value For Money
Airport hotels are often very expensive due to the demand for the location, so it’s nice to find a reasonably priced option with an impressive amount of things on offer.
It’s not excellent value for money, but it is very good, and given that most people will spend less than 24 hours here, it’s more than enough.
Food And Beverage Execution
Aspice Kitchen Restaurant is a good airport hotel restaurant in that the food is tasty enough and decently presented.
However, we don’t see anyone returning here to dine after they check out. Bali simply has way too many options to make this a “must do”.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
The location is pretty much “next to the airport”, which is what we want in a cheap airport hotel and it’s safe enough.
You wouldn’t pick this area for being pretty, thoug,h and while there are things to do and places to go on the doorstep, most people won’t stay long enough to care.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
To be fair, they actually provide more amenities than we’d expected at Grandmas Plu,s considering the price tag.
And it’s all OK too, not best in class but nice enough, and the spa is very good.
Overall “Personality”
We doubt that anyone is ever going to fall in love with this place or count the days until they return to Grandmas Plus, but it’s not meant to be that kind of resort.
What it is, it does well, and that’s to supply a roof and enough food and entertainment to pass the time before or after a flight, until you can go somewhere else.
