It’s funny how important “saving the planet” can be to people, right up to the point when it comes to booking their Summer holidays. Fortunately, not everyone is like this and for those people AmantraNa exists.
Yes, this is a modern Indonesia-style resort with a thick slice of eco-friendliness attached to it, and that’s got to be a good thing, right?
Well, we sent out our review team to find out whether the AmantraNa could help preserve the planet and provide bang for our holiday buck, and this is what they found.
Our In-Depth Assessment Of AmantraNa Canggu

We apply the same rigorous method and judging criteria to every review we undertake. Doing so ensures fairness to all properties inspected and makes comparing them much more straightforward for you.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

This hotel is reasonably well-maintained and very well cleaned. You will occasionally notice areas that could use a little attention to bring them up to 100%, but overall, we doubt that you’ll have any complaints in this category.
The pool area is incredibly clean for a relatively low-cost stay.
Sleep Quality

While it’s not always easy to get a perfect night’s sleep in Canggu, because of the business and noise that goes on in the area, you will do pretty well at AmantraNa.
We found it to be quiet on the site, and for the rooms to leak very little light, the beds were comfortable, the linen decent, and overall, we had a good night’s sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We love staying in Bali, and that’s because so many places here have an exceptional service culture. The Balinese are famed for their positive attitude and friendliness.
But the best hotels add a layer of professionalism to this that enables a wonderful guest experience, and we feel that AmantraNa punches well above its weight when it comes to service.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in process is pretty standard, and you’ll find that you’re not waiting too long to get to your room after you arrive.
The check-out process is even easier, and we were underway in a few minutes after we signalled we were leaving.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms here aren’t the biggest and best in Bali, but given the low room rates, you wouldn’t really expect them to be.
They are fully functional, though, and the supplied towels, toiletries, etc., will get the job done without much fuss.
Value For Money

We thought that overall the AmantraNa was good, but not spectacular value for money. It has enough to keep you happy while you explore Canggu, but it’s not the sort of place that you visit to spend most of your holiday in the hotel.
Food And Beverage Execution

The food and drinks available at this hotel are a bit on the basic side. They taste OK, they use good quality ingredients, but they’re not very memorable, and we can’t imagine anyone coming back here just to eat.
This isn’t a deal breaker given how many great restaurants and cafes are on the doorstep in Canggu.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

Canggu is Bali’s most popular spot, and that’s because it has something for everyone: the rice fields can still be found between developments, the beaches are good and excellent for surfing, and the beach club scene is world-class, with Finns Beach Club leading the way.
There are also first-rate restaurants, nightlife, bars, shopping and other things to do like riding schools, yoga classes and much more.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

There aren’t all that many facilities at this hotel, though the few they do have are exactly as promised. This is a great hotel for exploring Canggu from, but it’s not the sort of place where you’re going to spend endless days enjoying what the hotel has to offer.
Overall “Personality”

This is a nice 4-star hotel with some Balinese touches, but it’s really not the sort of place that becomes the focal point of your holiday. It’s a place to rest your head and chill out occasionally, rather than something you rave about endlessly when you get home.
Summary: Our Overview Of AmantraNa Canggu
We enjoyed our stay at AmantraNa Canggu, and we feel that this hotel is very much worth considering if you’re looking for a relatively cost-effective place to stay in Canggu.
If you use it to get out and enjoy this popular part of the island, you’re going to really enjoy your holiday.

FAQs
Is AmantraNa Canggu Family Friendly?
Yes, AmantraNa Canggu is family-friendly. Children from 3-8 years of age can usually stay for free or for a small additional fee, and they are welcome to stay with parents or guardians.
There is a pool here and some nice outdoor space to play in, but there are no child-specific amenities, so if you want your kids to have supervised fun, this isn’t the right place for them.
Also, this hotel does not provide any form of childcare or babysitting services, though these can be arranged with external providers easily enough in Bali.
Final Thoughts On AmantraNa Canggu
This is a very pleasant 4-star hotel with an emphasis on eco-conscious behaviours. We should note that the green industry in Bali is very much in its early stages, and they don’t publish any specific reporting on their environmental efforts.
However, they do use sustainable materials, source local materials as appropriate and avoid single-use plastics.
Overall, this is a very nice hotel that we’d be happy to recommend to most people for a reasonably priced stay in Canggu.
