Cleanliness and Maintenance
This is a hostel, and by nature of lots of shared spaces, no cleaning and maintenance team on Earth could achieve perfection.
But the team do very well despite the challenges, and we certainly had no major concerns for our safety or hygiene during our stay.
Sleep Quality
What can we say? It’s dorm accommodation that means you’re not just trying to accommodate your sleep pattern, you’re trying to deal with 3-7 other people, all with their own quirks and foibles.
This is also something of a party hostel, so things can be a little raucous even late at night. Can you sleep? Yes. But it’s not going to be an amazing night’s sleep unless you can sleep through anything, or you are lucky enough to have no fellow guests for a night in the dorm.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff at Kos One Hostel Canggu to be exceptional. They have that wonderful natural warmth and friendliness that Balinese people exude.
They also do a great job of trying to ensure that everyone has a great time on the budget available to them.

You won’t be waiting forever to check in or check out at this hostel, but you might need to spend a few minutes at the front desk.
Don’t worry, you’ll be in (or out of) your dorm before you know it.

Shared bathrooms are never great, and while the bathrooms are above expectations at Kos One Hostel Canggu, not one of our team would choose to use a bathroom like this unless it was all that was available to them.

If we were paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay at Kos One, we’d probably be disappointed in the facilities, but for the room price?
We think they’re unbeatable, there’s a lot of social space to ensure you can make new friends and have fun, which is what hostels are all about. It’s also all in surprisingly good condition.
Overall “Personality”
It’s possible that if you only stay in hostels for all your life that Kos One Hostel Canggu will be one of the highlights of your life.
But otherwise, it’s a hostel like many others around the world, nice but also pretty forgettable once you leave.
