We love Canggu, but then, who doesn’t? It’s Bali’s most popular resort town, and that means there’s always a lot of people looking for rooms.
That’s had a knock-on effect on prices, and it’s not the cheapest area to stay in, but Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa is an unusual creature – a relatively low-cost 5-star hotel in Canggu.
So, we sent out our intrepid review team to find out more, and this is what they learned while staying at Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa by InI ViE.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that this place was pretty clean and well-maintained, but that there were definite moments of inattention, and we could easily find hard-to-reach spots that had been missed.
It’s not a deal breaker; we don’t think it matters too much unless you have super severe dust allergies, but it’s there nonetheless.
Sleep Quality

The rooms have almost no soundproofing, and that’s a big deal when your resort is in the heart of Canggu; the sound carries here, and it will carry into your bedroom.
You’re not far from a club, which makes things worse; light sleepers are really not going to be happy. But the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are well-ventilated.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We find the standard of service to be very high in Bali in general, and we found the staff at this hotel warm and kind, as most Balinese are.
However, we also felt that they couldn’t really resolve much without kicking it up the management chain.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

This isn’t a big resort, and you won’t find it takes very long from your arrival to be comfortably ensconced in your cabana or villa.
The same is true when leaving, and given that you’re in Canggu, transport is very easy to find when you’re ready to go.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The rooftop cabanas appear to have bathrooms that can be seen from some distance away, we think your privacy is guaranteed, but we’re not 100% sure.
Also, there’s a long wait for hot water here; don’t just run the tap and jump in, it can be a bit of a shock if you do.
Value For Money

We felt that, despite its shortcomings, the low price tag meant that this was a great value place to say, though a long way from excellent value.
If you want a fairly luxurious place with a few minor niggles on the cheap, this is going to make sure you’re happy.
Food And Beverage Execution

The on-site restaurant is OK. The breakfast is the highlight of the day, and it’s worth getting up to partake of it.
However, we wouldn’t come back here just for the food; this is Canggu, and there’s so much competition, and much of it is better.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

Canggu is our favourite part of Bali, sure, it’s a little busy, but that’s because it’s earned its popularity; there’s so much to see and do here.
It also has the world’s best beach club and some of the best surfing for beginners on Earth. We’d always recommend people spend some time in Canggu while they’re in Bali.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

One of the ways you get to a reasonable price tag in Bali is to pick a resort with a minimal amount of facilities, like this one.
Everything advertised is present and correct, mind you, there’s just not very much of it.
Overall “Personality”
We think that you’ll be happy you stayed here, that your friends and family will ooh and ahh over your Instagram snaps and then… you’ll forget this as other memories in Bali will be more powerful.
Summary: Our Overview Of Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa by Ini Vie

For the money, Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa is more than good enough, but it’s not the best place to stay in Canggu, either.
You’ll need to decide if you want to keep your costs low or whether to splurge on a little more luxury than is available here.
Grading: Very Good
FAQs
Is Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa by Ini Vie Family Friendly?
Sort of, yes, Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa by Ini Vie is family-friendly. That is, children are welcome to stay with their parents or guardians in some of the rooms.
However, the loft cabanas are strictly adults-only, and children under the age of 18 may not stay in these rooms.
There is a kids’ menu available in the restaurant, but there are no other child-specific facilities here. Overall, if we were looking for a family resort, we’d pick somewhere else in Canggu; there’s a lot to choose from.
Final Thoughts On Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa by Ini Vie
Canggu Cabana Resort & Spa is a nice enough 5-star resort in Canggu; you can’t argue with the price (which also reflects the current travel uncertainty in the world).
And if you don’t need a whole host of facilities in a resort, then this makes for a solid base for exploring Canggu and Bali as a whole.
Overall, we think it’s a bit of a bargain, and we’d be happy to recommend it to anyone who is interested in staying there.
