Alila Seminyak Review, Seminyak, Bali: Sophistication On The Seminyak Shoreline

Our team has already reviewed the Alila property in Uluwatu and found it to be utterly charming, so they were very excited to get the opportunity to review this property in Seminyak.

It’s not quite on the same scale as the one in Uluwatu, but its position right behind the beach in one of the most popular spots on the island means that there are a lot of folks dying to stay here.

So, this is what we learned when we want to explore the Alila Seminyak in Bali.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

This is a big resort, and while everywhere is more than clean enough, we did find spots that the cleaning time had clearly missed when moving furniture and fittings around.

The maintenance team seems to be spot on, though, and there were no issues throughout our stay.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

The rooms are lovely, the beds are big and welcoming, the mattresses are excellent, the pillows are superb, and the room is airy and light-proof.

But, sadly, some of the rooms have serious sound leaks, and this is a big downside in Seminyak because the area is busy and noisy. We’d recommend asking for a room without a sea view because of this.

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

There’s no doubt that 5-star hotels in Bali all seem to provide an exceptional experience for their customers when it comes to staffing, and Alila Seminyak is no exception to that rule.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in and check-out experience is pretty standard, and we doubt anyone ever has to wait very long to get into their rooms.

They will be happy to store bags for you if you need them to after check out.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are fabulous, and we wish our own were as nice, to be honest. There’s no doubt that you’ll enjoy cleaning yourself in here.

The supplied toiletries were much better than expected, too.

Rating:

Value For Money

We felt that the price tag for rooms at the Alila Seminyak was fair and representative of decent value.

We think there are better value places in this price bracket in Bali, but perhaps not in Seminyak.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

Seasalt is an excellent restaurant and one that we regularly return to, even when not staying in this hotel, but it’s not quite in the top tier of Bali’s hotel restaurants.

Overall, the food and drinks throughout this resort are of very good quality and taste every bit as good as they look.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

You really can’t argue with this spot in Seminyak, which places you in the heart of the action in one of Bali’s most popular tourist towns.

It’s safe enough, and you’re in a great position for the beach too. We’d be happy to use the Alila Seminyak to base ourselves in to explore more of the island.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

The hotel has exceptional amenities and they are at least as good as advertised throughout the resort.

If you like to spend a lot of time in the hotel, this is going to help make your stay even better value for money.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

We really liked how striking this hotel is at first glance and all the attention to details in design to make this place more than just a set of social media photographs.

We feel that most people who stay here will remember it for years to come (in a good way).

Summary: Our Overview Of Alila Seminyak

This is a fabulous resort for those who want lots to do on the doorstep and for families with kids who need entertainment.

However, the noise leaks in some rooms are a serious issue and light sleepers should proceeed with caution when booking here.

Overall, we’d recommend the Alila Seminyak to most travellers though and it’s worth nipping in to eat at Seasalt even if you choose another destination to rest your head.

FAQs

Is Alila Seminyak Family Friendly?

Yes, Alila Seminyak is a family-friendly resort. It has family pools, specific amenities for kids, including a kids’ club, supervised activities for the little ones and even a babysitting service.

The spacious suites at this resort are ideal for families to share without being on top of each other, and the beachfront location means that there’s always another space to play in.

This luxurious setting is good for more than just families, mind you, but if you have kids and want to really kick back and relax on holiday, Alila Seminyak is a great choice for you.

Other great family options include Bali Dynasty Resort and Club Med.

Final Thoughts On Alila Seminyak

This part of Seminyak is super busy and close to nightlife, so it won’t come as a surprise that sometimes, the noise of the environment leaks into the hotel grounds.

Which is a shame, because in most other respects, there’s no doubt that this is an excellent property and we’d be happy to recommend it to most people except for light sleepers.

And they probably ought not to stay in Seminyak at all; there are calmer places in Bali than this Southern party town.
