Seminyak is one of Bali’s most popular resort towns, but it’s not often associated with wellness; that’s Ubud’s thing. Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak offers wellness retreats as well as holiday comforts.
So, our team, worn out from the rigours of spending their lives in hotels on a generous expense account, felt that a trip to take care of their health and well-being was in order.
They packed their bags and headed to Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminya,k and this is what they found when they got there.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that this hotel was very clean and well put together, the size of the resort is quite compact but there are a lot of spaces inside and we did find the occasional spot that had been missed during the dusting.
However, overall, we were impressed with the maintenance team’s efforts and the cleaning team’s, too.
Sleep Quality

The bedroom is very good, they’ve done a good job of isolating it from street noise and you’ll get a peaceful night’s sleep.
The bed was big and comfortable, too, though we might have liked an extra couple of pillows.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We felt that the staff here were excellent and they typified that “can do” spirit of Balinese hospitality. You will always feel welcome and at home here.
They also seemed to be empowered to make decisions and get things done rather than having to seek permission from management.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

We felt that the check-in and check-out process was more than adequate. This isn’t a big hotel, you’re very unlikely to spend a lot of time waiting for anyone else to check-in before you do.
They are also very happy to store luggage for you, if you need them to.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathroom is really good, and the outdoor bathroom set up looks great at night. However, there’s no doubt that bathing outside does mean making yourself available as a snack for Bali’s ever present mosquitoes.
We don’t think there’s much that you can do about this, but it’s worth noting, particularly if you’re super sensitive to bug bites.
Value For Money

We felt that this hotel was good value for money verging on great value for money. It’s not the cheapest offering in Seminyak, but it’s certainly on the lower end of the pricing scale.
And you get a a very attractive space and lots of extras for the cash. If you’re into wellness, we think you’ll probably find the overall value for money to be even higher.
Food And Beverage Execution

This is a wellness oriented resort, so expect plenty of healthy eating options and you won’t be disappointed.
The trouble is that healthy eating isn’t always what we want on a holiday, the food is tasty, but sometimes, we just want to pig out on something less healthy.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

You can’t go wrong with being in Seminyak. The area is popular because there’s a lot available to you here, a decent beach, excellent shopping, a fabulous restaurant scene and expensive but high-end nightlife.
It’s also a great spot to explore the rest of the island from. We feel that Seminyak is safe and easy to get around too.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

We felt that the hotel supplied all the amenities that were promised in the brochure and that they were of a generally high standard.
However, most of them seem to incur additional charges, which is one of the ways that they can keep the room rates low.
Overall “Personality”

While it’s not in the same league as some of Bali’s heavyweight five-star hotels, this place has plenty of charm and it’s attractive too.
We’d say it’s the kind of place, that if it’s at the top end of your budget range, that will remain memorable for many years to come.
Summary: Our Overview Of Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak

We thought that Blue Karma Dijiwa was a nice little oasis in the heart of a busy tourist town and that its wellness offerings were excellent.
It’s not all that far from the beach and there’s a lot of things to do within walking distance. For the price, we’d be happy to recommend it to most people, particularly those seeking to improve their health while they’re on holiday.
Grading: Very Good/Happy to Return
FAQs
Is Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak Family Friendly?
Yes, Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak is family-friendly in that children are welcome to stay at the resort with their parents, and they do offer some basic babysitting services (at an additional charge).
However, there are no child-specific facilities available at this hotel, and the emphasis on wellness is unlikely to appeal to most children.
Overall, we think there are better family-oriented hotels in Seminyak, unless you really need a wellness retreat as part of your holiday.
Final Thoughts On Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak
Blue Karma Dijiwa Seminyak is not the swankiest wellness resort on the island, but it is good value for money, and unusually, it’s in Seminyak rather than Ubud.
In addition, it’s a short walk from the beach, and there’s plenty in the local neighbourhood to capture your interest for a few days, too.
Overall, we’d recommend this resort to anyone seeking a break in Seminyak with a tight-ish budget and who doesn’t mind not being directly on the beach.
