Cleanliness and Maintenance
The cleaning team does a very good job here, and while there is the occasional thing they miss, you’d expect that in a resort of this size.
However, rather like Kuta Beach, Bali Dynasty Resort has seen better days, and there are real signs of wear and tear in parts of the resort. It’s not hideous or unsightly, but it is there.
Sleep Quality
We felt that the bedrooms were good at Bali Dynasty resort with good air quality, nice beds and comfortable mattresses, linen, pillows, etc.
But there is a bit of noise that permeates the room when the other guests are being raucous, and while, normally, that’s not in the middle of the night. It can be.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff at Bali Dynasty Resort were the equal of the staff in 5-star hotels all over Bali, kind, warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful.
They’re also very professional and get things done when needed. They appear to have some leeway to make their own decisions without running things up the flagpole.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
This is quite a big hotel, so it’s possible that you might end up waiting a while to get into a room if you arrive if a huge number of people arrive at the same time as you.
But otherwise, things seem to go pretty quickly, and you can ask them to store luggage after you check out of your room.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are a little tired-looking due to the age of the rooms, but overall, they’re big enough and comfortable.
The supplied towels and toiletries are more than fit for purpose, too.
Value For Money
Because it’s in Kuta and a slightly older hotel, the Bali Dynasty Resort delivers huge amounts of value for money.
The downside is that you are choosing an area by the sea with a beach that has been badly destroyed by erosion. But that’s not the hotel’s fault, and it doesn’t change the value that the hotel provides.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food and drinks here are pretty standard hotel food; they’re tasty enough, and look nice when they’re brought out of the kitchen or bar.
But they’re not very memorable, and you can certainly find better places to eat in Kuta and within walking distance of this hotel.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
It’s Kuta. Super busy, downmarket and not always savoury late at night. But there are a ton of amenities on the doorstep, and it’s a good base to explore the island from.
Overall, the middling score is due to the ruined shoreline. There’s no getting around the fact that the beach used to be lovely, and it isn’t now.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
This hotel offers a huge amount of amenities and facilities, and they are all in pretty good shape and as advertised.
We liked them a lot and would go back just to be able to use them again.
Overall “Personality”
It’s a nice hotel, but its glory days are firmly in the past. You will have a great time here, but will you remember this hotel distinctly in the years to come? Probably not.
And that’s OK. Not every hotel has to be the centrepiece of a holiday; just being very good is good enough for us.

However, if you’re looking for a great beach holiday, Kuta Beach is not the place for you.

Yes, Bali Dynasty Resort is very family-friendly. It’s got a full set of kids’ clubs and teens’ clubs to ensure that your children always have something to do and a place to make new friends.
There are room arrangements that can support all but the very largest of families and plenty of facilities that the whole family can enjoy together.
They also have a solid selection of children’s meals on the menu to ensure that your children eat well.
The only downside of staying here is that, as a beach holiday, it’s a bit limited due to the state of the local beach.

The Bali Dynasty Resort is a decent family resort in a location that has some serious flaws. Kuta Beach has been the victim of erosion in the last year, and it’s no longer what it once was.
However, there’s no doubt that this resort is reasonably priced for Bali, and has a huge amount of things to do. So, if you don’t mind spending most of your time in the hotel, it’s a solid choice.
Our only reservation is that if you’re not bringing your family, you may find this hotel a little too “vibrant” during the day.
