The Edge made it onto our best luxury resorts in Bali roster. A serious achievement. And as you’d expect, it’s also one of the top resorts in Uluwatu.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
The cleanliness of this place is exceptional, particularly given it’s a villa complex with a lot of outdoor spaces.
The same goes for the maintenance; we didn’t see any signs of wear and tear or aging, and given that this is an older resort, that’s impressive.
Sleep Quality
If you have a bad night’s sleep here, it’s on you. You’re out of the way of any sources of noise pollution. There’s no light pollution in the rooms.
And you have a well-air, comfortable bedroom, with luxury touches throughout. We would love to go back and sleep here again.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The service at this resort is as exceptional as the price tag says it should be; they will know your name and see to it that your every reasonable desire is taken care of.
Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and the staff have a great degree of latitude to solve your problems without escalating issues.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in process is just fine, and you’ll be in your villa nearly the moment you arrive at the resort, which is what we’d expect.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are spacious, the water pressue (unusually for this part of Bali) is excellent and all the details like toiletries, towels, fixtures, fittings, etc. are spot on.
Value For Money
There’s no doubt about it, The Edge offers a highly curated experience, but at a very big price tag. We think it’s worth the money, without a question and would say it’s good but not exceptional value for money.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food and beverages are above the standard hotel fare, without quite making it to fine dining territory.
We love the way everything looks when it’s presented to you at this place, and taking photos of our food has rarely been as much fun.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
It’s a very nice area which is extremely safe, but we’ve got to stress it’s a bit “middle of nowhere”, so if you want to explore Uluwatu and the Bukit Peninsula, you’ll need transport.
You should also know that getting off the Bukit into the rest of Bali can be extremely traffic-intensive, and a quick drive to Ubud can turn into 2-3 hours in traffic.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We’d normally rate The Edge even better than this, but there is one glaring issue with this place, its relatively remote location means that the Internet on-site is very hit and miss, and more often miss than hit.
They ought to consider using Starlink or another solution, because in 2026, most people want high-speed internet on holiday. Otherwise, the facilities here are both excellent and exceptional.
Overall “Personality”
This is a genuinely breathtaking hotel, and that phrase is often overused in travel writing, but here it’s absolutely true. The views are epic, and the overall vibe is one of total relaxation.
We can’t imagine anyone forgetting their stay at The Edge, it’s the sort of place that sparks conversations many years after you’ve returned home.
Summary: Our Overview Of The Edge
The Edge is a fabulous property with a couple of minor drawbacks – the poor Internet service and the location, which is a bit remote from the rest of Bali.
However, if you put those to one side, you have an amazing hotel experience that is very much worth anyone’s time and money.

Final Thoughts On The Edge
The Edge is one of Bali’s most luxurious properties, and while there’s no doubt that this luxury comes at a fairly steep price tag, mostly, it feels merited.
From the in-villa butler service to the excellent on-site restaurants, they’ve worked very hard to ensure that this experience remains a cut above many of the others in Uluwatu.
And you really can’t beat that infinity pool view, so we’d be happy to recommend this resort to anyone who can afford it and who wants to stay in Uluwatu.
