The cleaning and maintenance teams are on fire at Komaneka, well, not literally, of course, but there’s no doubt that if keeping things spotless and ship shape were an Olympic event, they’d be looking at Gold Medals.
Even our team of expert dirt and distress hunters couldn’t unearth a single speck of dust here.
Sleep Quality
We had an excellent night’s sleep at this hotel; the room was the perfect temperature, and the airflow was spot on too.
The bedsheets, mattresses and pillows were luxuriant, and the bed itself was more than big enough even for the larger members of the review team.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
Bali is all about hospitality, and there’s no doubt at all that Komaneka at Bisma is at the forefront of the hospitality industry here.
The Bisma group is a decent-sized group here, and that means they have the kind of staff training resources that some of the more boutique properties can only dream of. It’s an investment well made.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Getting into the room was an easy experience, and while this is a medium-sized property, we felt that the staff were experts at facilitating fast access rather than creating effort.
Checking out was similarly painless, and we had no problems storing some luggage while we went for a last stroll around Ubud.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms were very nice with good hot water and water pressure, two major concerns we have with hotels here.
However, we were a bit disappointed in the toiletries; we expected something a bit more standout from this brand.
Value For Money
We felt that Komaneka at Bisma was very good value for money, and we doubt that anyone has ever felt cheated by staying here.
However, there is so much competition in this price bracket that you can afford to be extremely picky about where you stay. Always make sure that your intended resort ticks as many boxes on your hotel checklist as possible before you book.
Food And Beverage Execution
Sereng Kitchen Restaurant was very good, and we’d be happy to come back to this hotel just to eat there in the future.
The ingredients were fresh and delicious, and each dish was prepared with both love and care as well as professionalism.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is a fabulous place to stay because there’s so much to do in the area. If you love temples, galleries, museums, rice terraces, waterfalls, yoga shalas, etc., then you’ll love Ubud.
However, the downside is that it’s super popular, and that means traffic and then crowds at the most popular places.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
This is a pricey hotel, and thus, as expected, all facilities are as advertised and in great condition; however, it’s a pricey hotel.
And we can’t help feeling that there ought to be a bit more available at this room rate.
Overall “Personality”
This is a lovely resort that you’ll be raving about after your holiday to your friends and family when you get back home. It looks great in your Instagram feed, too.
But we’re not sure it’s going to remain in your memory forever, either.

Our only real criticism of this resort is that it’s not exactly stacked with facilities and amenities, but we don’t think that matters when you’re as close to town as you are here.
We’d be happy to recommend this resort to absolutely anyone who was interested in it, without any reservations. It’s a fabulous place to stay in Central Bali.
