Andaz Bali By Hyatt Review, Sanur, Bali: A Modern Interpretation Of A Balinese Village

Sanur is often considered to be the sleepiest of Bali’s beach towns, but we think it’s changed a lot in recent years, and while it may not party like Canggu, this village has definitely woken up.

The beach here is excellent for families, particularly as the water is protected by a reef, which creates extremely safe swimming conditions that even little kids can enjoy without being strong swimmers.

Andaz Bali is on the shorefront, and this Hyatt-owned hotel has a decent reputation, so our team decided to visit and see what they thought of this Sanur spot.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that this hotel was very clean, but there were moments when we’d check in the places that cleaners often miss and find that they’d missed them. It’s not a huge deal, but the little details matter.

We had very few problems with maintenance while we were at Andaz Bali, and the staff seemed to be pretty proactive in ensuring that everything was working properly.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

We found the beds to be very good and that they were comfortable and easy to sleep on. There was a little noise leak into the rooms, but rarely enough for it to become bothersome.

Overall, we had a pretty good sleep at Andaz Bali.

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We felt that the staff here were very much typical Balinese with very friendly natures and generous spirits.

However, we did feel that they weren’t always empowered to get things done and often needed to reach out to a more senior staff member, delaying issue resolution.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in process was pretty efficient, though we’d be curious to see if it holds up with a large number of guests arriving at the same time (something we didn’t witness during our review period).

We also found check-out to be painless enough. You can store bags here if you need to, which is handy if you check out and then want to go and explore a little before going to the airport.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

We found the bathrooms to be spacious and comfortable to use, with a decent range of toiletries on hand. The towels were OK, not the best we’ve had, but good enough to get dried with.

Rating:

Value For Money

We felt that if you’re using all the facilities on offer that Andaz Bali is good value for money but if you’re not it’s pretty pricey compared to other resorts that can offer similar levels of comfort.

Overall, we don’t think anyone will leave Andaz Bali feeling ripped off, but some may feel they could have got more bang for their buck.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

With a large number of onsite restaurants serving above-average hotel fare, we think they do a great job in the food and drinks department at Andaz Bali.

We might even go back just for the food if we’re passing through Sanur.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

This beachfront location in Sanur is excellent; you’re within walking distance of anything you could possibly need in the local town, and there are no loud parties or clubs nearby to interfere with your relaxation.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

The facilities at Andaz Bali are very good, and they absolutely live up to the promises made in their marketing material.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

It’s pretty enough, and you can take some decent snapshots while you’re there for your Instagram, but we did feel that Andaz Bali was nice, but not really very memorable, even if we did enjoy the Balinese architectural styling.

Summary: Our Overview Of Andaz Bali

Andaz Bali is a good choice of a family-friendly hotel in Bali. And if you’ve got little ones with you, the facilities here are very good, indeed.

We don’t think that it’s one of the more memorable hotels on the island, though, it’s just a pleasant vacation spot to be slowly forgotten when you get back home.

FAQs

Is Andaz Bali Family Friendly?

Yes, Andaz Bali is family-friendly. In fact, we’d suggest that this Sanur Resort is ideal for families as it offers a huge number of services for kids as well as their parents.

Conversely, those without children might want to skip Andaz Bali unless they really enjoy children running about all over the place being kids.

Final Thoughts On Andaz Bali

Andaz Bali is very much a family-oriented resort, and that may not be ideal if you’re looking for a relaxing break away from the sound of children.

If that’s not an issue, then you’re bound to like this spot in Sanur, which offers a taste of pseudo-Balinese village styling and plenty of amenities.

We were super impressed with the number of amenities at this hotel, and you’re sure not to be bored if you choose Andaz Bali for your next break.
