Cleanliness and Maintenance
Despite the location, the attention to detail from the cleaning and maintenance teams is absolutely unparalleled.
Normally, you’ll find “jungle litter” appearing in the resort immediately after cleaning in this kind of location, but everything was managed perfectly here.
Sleep Quality
You will have an excellent night’s sleep in this hotel with absolutely no noise entering the rooms from outside (its quiet location helps with this).
The bed is very large, comfortable and has the kind of mattress and pillow set-up that we want for uninterrupted rest.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
As you’d expect at a 5-star resort, the staff attitude is excellent with that Balinese hospitality that the island is famous for worn on everyone’s sleeve.
There is an obvious ethos of making problems go away by remedying them immediately rather than escalating them to management. We think that’s the right way to go.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out are perfectly OK, and you’ll be through the door and into your rooms in a reasonable amount of time.
They can hold luggage at the front desk after checking out, which is handy if you want to spend a bit more time in Ubud before you move on.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms at this property are excellent, large, spacious and with good toiletries and towels. The fixtures and fittings are in good condition too.
Value For Money
We felt that The Luxe offered truly exceptional value for money, and in a crowded hotel market like Ubud’s, that’s some going.
Our team felt that most people would be very glad to have invested in this hotel experience and that they would recommend it to others, too.
Food And Beverage Execution
The Grill @ Luxe is one of the better hotel restaurants in Ubud, and while it’s not quite in the fine dining category, it offers very good meals for reasonable prices.
We thought the food here was tasty, fresh and beautifully prepared and presented and yes, we’d come here just to eat even if we weren’t staying here.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is a great place to stay because it’s safe, there’s lots to see and do (particularly if you are of a cultural bent, or into yoga), and it’s a little cooler than the beach towns.
However, its popularity can lead to some locations being very crowded, and there’s no doubt that the traffic leading in and out of the town can be horrendous at times.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
This hotel has a pretty good range of facilities, and they’re of a decent standard, but we’d really like a bit more than they have to offer.
Sometimes, we like to be able to spend several days in a resort without getting bored, and this isn’t quite that kind of place.
Overall “Personality”
We liked The LUXE Ubud very much and we felt that people would go home and enthusiastically rave about it after their holiday.
However, we’re not sure if that will sustain over the years to come, it’s a very nice hotel but not quite a holiday-defining one.

The LUXE is a bit of a steal and if you want a luxurious place to rest your head without spending too much money, this could be a cornerstone of your Bali experience.
Our team would be happy to return to this hotel time and again, and we felt that it would be very hard to do better at this price point.

Is The LUXE Ubud Family Friendly?
The LUXE Ubud is partially family-friendly. It welcomes children 9 years of age and older, but charges those kids 12 and above as full adults.
We should note that it also has a very steep extra bed charge of 1,028,500 IDR (approx. $60 USD or $102 AUD) per night!
This resort also has no child-specific services or amenities, which means it’s going to be best for older families seeking a quiet break rather than for those with younger children.
Final Thoughts On The LUXE Ubud
We very much enjoyed our time at The LUXE. While we do wish it had a few more facilities, you’re in Ubud, and there’s plenty to do not far from your doorstep.
The on-site restaurant is a definite highlight of a stay here, and we like the vibe of jungle living with easy access to a busy town.
We’d recommend staying here to anyone who is interested. It’s a lovely place.
