Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that they paid attention to most of the details when it comes to cleaning, though we did occasionally move something and found that they might clean under it more regularly.
There are also some parts of the common areas that aren’t quite as well maintained as they could be, nothing major or holiday impairing, but a minor niggle all the same.
Sleep Quality
The beds are lovely, they are comfortable with good mattresses and pillows, and the airflow in the rooms is fine.
However, soundproofing is poor, and you will get street noise leaking into the room; it’s not overwhelming, but light sleepers won’t appreciate this.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff at this hotel are lovely, and we found them to be the soul of professionalism and conviviality.
There’s no doubt that Bali’s hospitality sector excels when it comes to service culture, and Cicada Luxury Townhouses is no exception to this rule.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in and check-out process was painless enough, and because this isn’t a huge resort, we doubt you’ll ever be left floundering around waiting to get into a room for long.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The outdoor bath and very open shower design are very nice, but it also felt a bit exposed (pardon the pun), too.
This design also sees rather more mosquitoes escaping from the bathroom into the bedroom than we’d ideally have liked.
Value For Money
We felt that this resort was good but not exceptional value for money, while it is modern and pleasant, it has some odd design choices and a lack of amenities to really add value to the reasonable nightly rate.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site dining experience is fine. It’s certainly not a reason to book the hotel in its own right, nor would you cross town (Seminyak has some of the best restaurants in Indonesia) to eat here but if you’re staying here, you will be perfectly happy with the fare on offer.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
You’re within a short walking distance of the beach, which is one of Bali’s most popular beaches. The town of Seminyak has nightlife, shopping, restaurants and much more to enjoy.
It’s also neatly located if you want to explore the rest of Bali by ride-share or taxi. Ubud, Canggu, Kuta, etc. are only a short drive away.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The facilities on offer here are quite good, there’s just not very many of them. They aren’t under delivering on their promises, we’d just like there to be a bit more.
Overall “Personality”
This is a very attractive resort, but it lacks any real personality. You will get some nice pics of it and then forget it by the time you’re down on the beach making sandcastles.
Summary: Our Overview Of Cicada Luxury Townhouses
We enjoyed our stay here, though we’d have preferred a bit more effort put into the bathroom design and soundproofing.
However, it’s pretty cost-effective for what is an attractive villa not far from Seminyak Beach, so if you’re prepared to put up with this place’s shortcomings, you may be very happy with the price.
Overall, we’d be happy to recommend this spot to everyone, except light sleepers and those who react violently to mosquito bites.

Yes, to some extent, Cicada Luxury Townhouses are family-friendly. The property has outdoor pools, DVD players, babysitting services, safety gates, etc. available, and children under 12 stay free as long as they use the existing beds in the apartment or villa of your choice.
However, there is no playground, kids’ club, children’s pool, etc., and there are many resorts in this area that offer more child-oriented activities and facilities than this one.
Overall, we can see parents of older children enjoying a break here, whereas people with younger kids might prefer somewhere with a kids’ club.
Final Thoughts On Cicada Luxury Townhouses
This resort is a very pleasant place to stay in Seminyak, and it’s in a great spot if you want to enjoy the area’s legendary nightlife and shopping opportunities.
It’s a great base for exploring more of Bali, too, with places like Canggu, Ubud, Sanur, etc. all being a reasonably short distance away (though traffic can make journeys much longer in Bali).
Overall, we’d be happy to recommend this resort to people who are happy making their own entertainment and don’t need too many on-site amenities to provide entertainment for them.
