Cleanliness and Maintenance
This villa complex has a lovely minimalist vibe going on, and that means it has to be clean and well-maintained, as there’s nowhere for anything to fade into the background.
Everything in this place has genuine utility, and thus, you’re going to be examining it in detail, and we’re pleased to report, it’s all fabulous.
Sleep Quality
Most of the time, you can sleep around the clock here and be assured of an unbroken nap due to comfortable beds and a fairly remote location.
However, because the pool area is open to the public, not just hotel guests, it can get a bit rowdy, and that noise can travel to the rooms. It won’t happen at night, but if you enjoy a bit of daytime rest, it can be annoying.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
Bali has an exceptional service culture thanks to a natural local inclination to warmth and kindness, and in 5-star properties like these, it’s very rare if the service isn’t world-class.

Check-in/Check-out Experience
We had no real issues with check-in; it wasn’t a particularly memorable experience, but this is one area that we feel a lot of hotels across the world have yet to perfect.
And checking out was similarly painless, and they can store your luggage if you need them to, which is handy if you want to explore Ubud a bit more before you move on.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are lovely, and we only have one minor complaint: the towels smell a bit funny. The resort assured us that it’s because they chose a non-perfumed soap to minimise allergies, but it was odd.
They were happy to replace them with towels that were washed in more traditional laundry powder, and that was fine by us.
Value For Money
There’s so much competition in this category that a hotel has to be near perfect to score an excellent in this category, so there’s no shame in our “great” rating for Chapung Sebani.
This is a great resort with a lot to offer potential guests, and we don’t think anyone will feel like they overpaid.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site food is OK, there’s quite a bit of spectacle to go with things, but the actual dishes themselves just don’t really stand out from the background of Ubud’s amazing dining scene.
That’s OK, you’ll probably only want to eat in the hotel once or twice given the options around you and thus, it doesn’t matter too much.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud’s one of the most visited places in Bali for good reasons – attractions, shopping, dining, etc., the town has it all.
However, this property is quite far from the main town, and you will need transport. We’d also note that being popular has the downside of bringing crowds and bad traffic at times. #
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
This resort has a decent amount of facilities and they are all in really good shape from what we could see. We could always use more but we doubt that you’ll get bored easily at Chapung Sebani.
Overall “Personality”
This is a very attractive hotel with plenty to see and do. We don’t think that it’s quite in the top tier of Bali’s most memorable places to stay, but it’s also not that far off.
We think that you’ll love taking photos here to share with the folks back home and that you’ll be talking about it for a good while after you return.
Summary: Our Overview Of Chapung Sebali
Chapung Sebali is an excellent resort with plenty to keep you entertained, and it also looks fabulous. We can’t imagine that anyone is going to have a bad time while staying here.
It’s a particularly good spot to choose if you like the idea of a pool club, though Jungle Fish can get very busy at times and interfere with the quiet of the environment, too.

Is Chapung Sebali Family Friendly?
Yes, Chapung Sebali is family-friendly, and children of all ages may stay at this hotel with their parents or guardians. It’s also one of the rare properties that only charges for children as adults once they turn 18.
However, if you need a cot, it’s free, but an extra bed for kids up to the age of 12 is 450,000 IDR a night (approx. $30 USD or $45 AUD) and twice that for kids over 12.
There are no special children’s facilities at this resort, and they do not have either a kids’ club or babysitting services.

There is no doubt that the moment you set eyes on Chapung Sebali, you know you’ve found a special spot in the Balinese countryside.
The Scandinavian architecture is stunning, but there’s no doubt that there’s plenty of substance to back up the style at this lovely resort.
