Cleanliness and Maintenance
One thing you can be sure of with the big brand names in Bali is that they will take care of the cleaning and maintenance as if it were their own home.
Everything here is in excellent condition and spotless, which is very nice and how we’d want it to be.
Sleep Quality
The rooms are well aired, and the beds are large with comfortable bedding and mattresses. However, there is an issue with sleep quality.
The noise proofing on the hotel side of things is pretty poor, and if someone has young children running about the place, you’re going to hear them.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are very much what you’d expect from a big label, with a beautiful blend of Balinese hospitality and professionalism.
Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to ensuring that you have a great experience, and we really enjoyed interacting with the people here.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
It’s very easy to check in and out of Element Bali, but it’s not the smallest of resorts, and we can imagine that it’s possible that a queue might arise if lots of people arrive at once.
Checking out is similarly pain-free, and we found they were happy to store your bags if needed, so you can keep enjoying Ubud before you move on.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
Mostly the bathrooms here are very nice, and the supplied towels and toiletries are excellent and great for washing with.
There are some downsides, though. The first is that the shower floors get super slippery to the point of being dangerous, and the second is that the water pressure is pretty weak.
Value For Money
We think if you end up in a mid-tier offering from a big brand, you kind of know that you’re paying a premium for predictability.
This place is good value for money, but not great or exceptional. There are a lot of options at this price bracket in Ubud.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site restaurant facilities are just fine, and while we didn’t feel that they ever rose to the kind of standard that would encourage you to visit just for the food, you won’t have a disappointing meal here, either.
But don’t forget that you’re in Ubud and there are a lot of options on the doorstep.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is a super popular resort town for good reason; there’s a ton of things to see and do here, and particularly if you want to explore local culture or enjoy some yoga, this is the place for you.
However, its popularity means it can get really crowded in high season, and there are often very bad traffic jams in and out of town.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
While it’s not got a huge range of things to do at this hotel, what is available is exactly as it was described in the marketing literature, and it’s all in very good condition.
Overall “Personality”
Element Bali is very nice, but we can’t really think of a single way that it stands out from a typical mid-tier branded resort, either.
It’s a good place for a holiday, but we don’t think it’s going to be the star of the show; that will be the town of Ubud and the people you are with.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome at this resort as long as they stay with their parents or guardians. However, children 12 years or older are charged as adults at this property, which is better than some other resorts, but not the best deal available.
