Cleanliness and Maintenance
This is a very clean and well-maintained hotel, but the challenge of being jungle-bound is that the moment somebody cleans, Mother Nature starts to make a mess of things again.
There’s not much the hotel can do about this, mind you, but lizards, insects, leaves, etc., are simply part of the adventure here.
Sleep Quality
The rooms are nicely set up for good sleep, and the beds are large and comfortable with nice mattresses, pillows and bedding.
But we don’t know if it was our bad luck, but the tokay geckos around this place are extremely noisy and getting a good night’s sleep can be a bit hit or miss.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are, as almost always in Balinese hotels, a credit to the establishment. They are warm, friendly and professional, and if there is an issue, they will endeavour to resolve it asap.
Overall, if you want to enjoy your stay anywhere, it starts with a first-rate service culture like this one.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in process itself is fine, but one thing they don’t mention in the brochure is that many of the rooms and facilities require climbing quite a lot of stairs. This is going to mean that if you have mobility issues, it’s not the ideal resort for you.
Checking out is easy, and you’ll have no problem finding a Grab or Gojek ride when you want to move on.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are lovely and the kind of thing that we’d be very happy to have at home. There’s plenty of room, and the fixtures and fittings look great in their context.
We also thought that the supplied toiletries were very nice and that the towels were wonderfully comfortable to use.

The Natya Resort Ubud is good value for money, and you’re not likely to feel ripped off in this environment.
However, there’s no doubt that there is an awful lot of competition in this price bracket, and you may want to hunt around for the perfect fit for your needs.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food is distinctly average, and the breakfasts were pretty boring, even for hotel breakfasts, and we felt that this was one area that they really needed to improve upon.
However, when you’re in Ubud, you are never that far from plenty of excellent restaurants, cafes, and bars, so don’t worry about the hotel food; it’s not essential.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is awesome. It has a wealth of attractions and things to enjoy. However, that does present a problem – it can feel too popular.
Big sights like the Monkey Forest can feel packed and cramped at times, and the traffic is terrible most of the time in this area, sadly.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The hotel is OK in this respect in that everything they advertise is present and correct (and in good condition), but there’s not very much of anything to do here.
A lot of what they offer is off-site (and chargeable) services to make it look like they give more than they do.
Overall “Personality”
We think that, as long as you don’t mind a bit of jungle life (and if you do, you should book elsewhere), this resort is pleasant and attractive.
It may not make your “best hotels ever” list, but it will certainly become a pleasant memory of your time in Bali.
