Cleanliness and Maintenance
We found the cleanliness to be good enough at this resort; the team occasionally missed something that they could have moved and cleaned under, but overall, we had no real complaints.
The maintenance was OK, though we did have a slight issue with the air-conditioning when we moved in; it was resolved quickly enough.
Sleep Quality
We felt that the sleep quality was pretty good here. The beds are very much your standard corporate hotel bed with a decent mattress and pillows.
The ventilation is good, and the rooms stay dark enough. However, there is occasionally some noise from the other residents.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The service is a cut above the background standard of this hotel. Their staff are warm and friendly, and confident in their products and services.
Most of all, they are empowered to get stuff done and make sure you have a friction-free stay, and that’s awesome.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in and check-out processes are the sort of bland, mildly efficient thing that you’d expect at a hotel like this; it’s nothing to write home about, but won’t keep you at the check-in desk for too long either.
They can hold baggage if you need them to after you vacate the room.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms aren’t huge, but they’re adequate even if you need to step in to help your little ones get clean.
The toiletries, towels, etc., are all OK, too. You won’t have any issues maintaining your personal hygiene standards here.

We felt that you were paying more for the location than the hotel itself here; it’s acceptable value for money, but not amazing.

It’s very typical chain hotel food and drinks, decent enough, but completely forgettable, and you’d only really eat here if you were staying here.

You can’t go wrong staying in Canggu, which is safe, popular and full of markets, beach clubs (including FINNS, the world’s best beach club), bars, restaurants and things to do.
Batu Bolong Beach is the town’s most popular beach, too, and you’re very close to it when you stay here.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The facilities and amenities are exactly as promised in exacting detail on the hotel’s website, and they are all good enough.
However, there’s no “killer app” as it were to raise the experiential bar beyond good enough.
Overall “Personality”
It’s a touch on the bland side, though there are some cool moments, like the infinity pool with an epic view over the beach. But the hotel is set quite a way back from that beach, so you can’t dash directly onto the sand.
Overall, it’s good enough. But the sort of place that blends into all other places you’ve ever stayed in your memory.

It was a decent stay at a fairly standard corporate chain family resort, and we would be happy to go back for its proximity to Batu Bolong Beach alone.
Nothing at this place will blow you away, exactly, but you’re not likely to be disappointed in anything either.
Your kids will look back on time spent at the Holiday Inn Resort Canggu very fondly, though, it’s good for family fun.

However, it’s most definitely a family set up, and we don’t think singles or child-free groups are going to appreciate the vibe here.
So, with that exception, we’d be happy to recommend this resort to families coming to Bali for the first time or for repeat visitors.
