Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that the cleaning here was a bit hit and miss; it won’t ruin your holiday, but there were moments when items were clearly neglected for longer than they should have been.
Similarly, the maintenance is pretty good, but the air conditioning was not consistent, and some of the advertised in-room amenities were MIA.
Sleep Quality
We were surprised that this hotel bills the rooms as “soundproof” because in our experience, they weren’t quite. There wasn’t a lot of noise carried into the room, but there was some.
Otherwise, the beds are big and comfortable, the rooms are well-ventilated as long as the AC is working properly, and the bedding, mattresses and pillows are nice.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff here to be very good, indeed, though that is what we expect when we check into a high-end resort.
They have that lovely Balinese charm, and they’re very professional with an interest in resolving issues rather than escalating them.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Checking in here is very easy, and you won’t spend very much time waiting to get into your room. The same is true of checking out.
However, there’s not much ceremony or additional experience incorporated into the check-in either.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are OK, though the towels were dirty when we first arrived, and we had to have them replaced with clean ones.
Otherwise, there’s hot water, decent water pressure and nice towels and toiletries; you won’t have any problems getting clean.
Value For Money
Overall, we found the Jannata Resort and Spa Ubud to be good value for money, but they really need to pay more attention to the little details.
Nothing about our stay here was so bad that it left a bad taste in our mouths, but almost all of it could be better, too.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food was OK for hotel food, but there’s absolutely nothing about it that elevates it to the next level; that’s alright. You’re in Ubud, and you’re surrounded by some of the best warungs, cafes and restaurants in Bali.
You might eat breakfast at the hotel and then opt to dine elsewhere for the rest of your stay.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is a fabulous place for a holiday, and it has temples, palaces, rice fields, monkey forests, markets, yoga shalas, and much more for you to enjoy.
However, it’s also a very popular spot, and that means that sights can get very crowded at times, and the traffic in and out of town can be harsh.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We thought that Jannata Resort and Spa Ubud delivered on the main facilities it promised, but that some of the minor amenities were missing in action.
It wasn’t a big deal, but little things like having a power outlet near the bed can make or break a stay in the long-term.
Overall “Personality”
We think, despite its issues, this is an attractive hotel with excellent service and that most people will go home after their holiday and wax lyrical about their stay here.
However, we’re not sure that they will still be doing so in 5 years’ time.

Yes, this resort is family-friendly, and children of all ages are welcome to stay at Jannata Resort and Spa Ubud as long as they are accompanied by parents or guardians.
However, it’s worth noting that kids of 11 and above are going to be charged as adults, which is not the most generous deal around (though it is better than some).
Cots are available free of charge, but extra beds for 3-year-olds and above come in at 500,000 IDR per night (approx. $30 USD or $50 AUD).
We should also note that while babysitting services are available, there’s not much else for kids to do here.
Final Thoughts On Jannata Resort and Spa Ubud
We were blown away by this boutique resort in Ubud. While it can’t hold its own against the titans of Bali’s hotel industry, in its price bracket, it has very few peers.
The service is incredible, the view is spectacular, and the overall experience is relaxing and fun.
Overall, we’d be more than happy to recommend staying in this place if you want to spend some time in Ubud or just want a romantic countryside break.
