Note: On our visit to this resort, the hotel itself was under renovation, and only the villas were open to the public. It is not clear when this work will be completed, and the rooms and suites will become available again.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
The cleaning team are working very hard, but this is an older hotel and the maintenance team has got their work cut out for them. The signs of aging are very apparent at times.
We imagine that the villas will be renovated once the main hotel has finished, and they will be restored to their former glory. But for now, we can only rate what we see.
Sleep Quality
The rooms are big and airy, and the beds are very comfortable. The bedding is a little worn, though and really, this is something that they shouldn’t need to wait to fix.
Overall, you will have a good night’s sleep here, though, and there’s no noise or light pollution to worry about.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff were exceptional, even in the difficult circumstances of half the site being under construction. They embodied Balinese hospitality and 5-star professionalism.
We thought they worked very hard to deliver a solid customer experience in these trying circumstances and were a credit to their employer.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
With half the hotel closed, there’s no chance of being in a queue for hours before you get shown to your villa.
Check out is reasonably easy, too, and despite the ongoing work, they can still hold your bags if you need them to after you vacate your room.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are big and spacious, and there’s plenty of hot water and decent water pressure. We also felt that the supplied towels and toiletries were up to snuff.
However, there’s an odd smell sometimes in the bathroom, which could be identified by us or the hotel staff and it wasn’t very nice. It didn’t spoil the stay, but we’d rather it wasn’t there.
Value For Money
Under the circumstances, the prices have been reduced for the villas here, and they are among the cheapest beachfront villas in Seminyak.
And we’d say that they’re good, but not exceptional value for money overall. There are real challenges that this hotel is dealing with at the moment. Not least of which is the noise during the day from the on-site Sunset Beach Club, which is great when you’re at the beach club, less so when you just want to relax.
Food And Beverage Execution
Husk Restaurant and Sunset Beach Club both deliver solid but not exceptional meals and drinks. Though the cocktails are very nice to look at.
Overall, we enjoyed these places well enough while we were there, but wouldn’t come back just to use either facility.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Seminyak is second only in popularity with Bali’s visitors to the mighty Canggu, and that’s because it has a lovely shoreline, is safe and has excellent shopping, nightlife and more.
It’s also very close to many of the other parts of the island that you might want to see on a day trip.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
They are a little short on amenities during the renovation, though everything listed as available was available and in decent repair.
However, the Sunset Beach Club really monopolises the shoreline, and that’s irksome at times when you want to enjoy something more relaxing by the sea.
Overall “Personality”
When the renovations are complete, this mark (and others) will probably change but we can only rank what we see, and while this is a decent hotel with a few issues, it’s not the sort of place you rave about for years afterwards, right now.

Despite its issues, The Royal Beach Seminyak Bali currently offers beachfront villa properties at a low price tag, and if you really want that villa experience and have a tight budget, it might be perfect for you.
However, you must be willing to accept that the Sunset Beach Club will dominate a lot of your holiday if you book here.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome at this property. This property treats people 18 and over as adults for billing purposes.
Cots are available free of charge, and extra beds can be had for a cost of around 500,000 IDR per night (around $30 USD or $50 AUD).
However, beyond a kids’ pool, there aren’t many child-specific offerings at this property. We think this is a good place for a family with teens or older, but you might want to hunt around a little if you have younger kids for somewhere with more to do.

The Royal Beach Seminyak Bali is good value for money, but the on-site beach club is very much an acquired taste, and if it’s not your thing, it could spoil your holiday.
With the hotel currently closed, we feel that the property is probably missing much in the way of its usual amenities, though, and the low price tag reflects that there’s not that much to do here.
Overall, though, if you’re happy to put up with its shortcomings, this is a solid choice for a beachfront villa holiday in Seminyak.
