You’ll be in for some dramatic sunrise views here, as that’s the best time of day to catch the sky, and it’s located within walking distance of most of the area’s attractions.
Unusually, the hotel component of this resort is fully adults-only, and the villas are open for family stays. Please keep that in mind if you opt to book.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that overall, this hotel was cleaned to the standard that we would expect, and while there were minor issues with maintenance, there was nothing serious.
However, when we talked to our fellow guests, it appears that some rooms at this property are a bit of a magnet for bugs, and that doesn’t seem to be very well managed by the hotel.
Sleep Quality
We thought the beds were big and more than comfortable enough for the price bracket. However, despite this being an adults-only resort, the sounds of children playing in the onsite villas do carry to the suites, which can be a bit annoying very early in the morning.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff at Karmagli Boutique had amazing attitudes towards their guests, and when asked to go over and above, they always did.
They seem to be empowered to go the extra mile without seeking input from management, which is a nice change in Bali.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in experience was straightforward enough, given that it’s not the biggest resort, though we had to wait a short time for another guest to check in first.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are a decent size, though not huge, and neatly appointed with towels and toiletries. However, they do suffer a little from low water pressure at times.
Value For Money
The room rates at this hotel are very reasonable, and we’d say that they represent great value for money compared to similar places in the local area and across the island’s resort towns.
Food And Beverage Execution
There aren’t many four-star hotels in the world where you get your own private culinary team included in the room rate, but you do here, and it’s very nice.
The breakfast is really excellent, and the overall standard of food is good; however, you are at the mercy of time slots to ensure that things are efficient for all of the resort’s guests.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
We like the placement of this hotel on the Sanur shoreline, the beach is very pleasant and the fact that it’s a short walk from the rest of the town is super handy.
However, we’d also note that there’s no real wow factor to this part of the island, either, it’s nice enough but not jaw-dropping.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
There aren’t very many facilities or amenities at this hotel, the ones the offer in the marketing material, they deliver on satisfactorily, but if you’re a stay in the resort all day kind of person, you may feel a bit constrained by what’s on offer at Karmagli Boutique.
Overall “Personality”
The vibe of this hotel is nice enough and you can grab a few decent pics for your Instagram feed, but there’s nothing life changing about it and you probably won’t remember too much about your stay here in the years to come.

Karmagli Boutique is a place where the service really punches above its weight, and the terrace catering is really nice. The hotel might be a little short on amenities, but the location makes up for that, and it’s great value for money.
It won’t be perfect for everyone, but if you’re on a bit of a budget and want an adults-only resort, you can’t go wrong.

Is Karmagli Boutique Family Friendly?
Sort of. Karmagli Boutique Hotel does not allow children, and it is a 100% adults-only venue. However, the private pool villas at this hotel do allow children to stay with their parents and guardians, though they may not have access to the facilities within the hotel itself.
Given that there are no special amenities for kids in the Karmagli Boutique, that’s not really a big deal, and the villas are spacious and attractive with plenty of places to play and their own pools.

If Sanur is the place you want to spend most of your time in during your Bali holiday, then there’s no doubt that Karmagli Boutique is a good accommodation option.
It’s good value for money and situated on the beach close to the main attractions of the area. The level of service rivals that of 5-star hotels, but it’s a little lacking on amenities beyond the rooms, terraces and pools.
