This is one of our favourite family holiday stays in Bali.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
This hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, and the maintenance team do a good job of keeping everything in working order.
We also felt that it was generally clean and had no serious concerns regarding hygiene. Though a little more attention to detail wouldn’t go amiss.
Sleep Quality
We had a great night’s sleep here and were surprised at how well soundproofed the rooms seemed to be.
We were expecting a lot of children’s noise from the corridors, etc., but that wasn’t the case.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are absolutely excellent, and while they’re not quite as well polished as their counterparts in some of the five-star hotels here, they make up in enthusiasm what they sometimes lack in skill.
We’d say they are a key reason to choose this hotel.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
It’s a straightforward and unremarkable check-in and check-out process, and you’ll be in your rooms pretty swiftly unless a huge group of people turn up just before you do.
They can store luggage after you check out if you need them to.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are pretty good, but we did feel that the fixtures and fittings were in need of refreshing or some serious maintenance.
The toiletries were pretty good for this class of hotel, though, and the towels were surprisingly good.
Value For Money
We felt that this hotel represents good value for money, but if you have children and want them to enjoy the kids’ club here, then you may find it’s excellent value.
Food And Beverage Execution
It’s perfectly good 4-star hotel food, and the breakfast is a pleasant way to start the day. It’s also fairly priced for what it is.
But this is Bali, and you have endless choices when it comes to restaurants and bars, and there are many better than this nearby.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Sanur is a pretty cool place for a holiday. It’s safe, the beach and sea are excellent for swimming. The boardwalk is great for a long stroll at sunrise.
And overall, there’s plenty within walking distance to do here, though you will need to walk to the beach. However, if you want to visit places further afield, the traffic can be dire.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The hotel has a lot of very good facilities, and the kids’ club is a really nice touch in a hotel at this price point.
No, nothing here is state-of-the-art, but it’s all in good condition, and you’ll have a great time with it.
Overall “Personality”
It’s a nice enough 4-star beach town hotel, but is it distinct or memorable in any significant fashion? No, not really.
You will have a fabulous holiday here, but the main talking points will be who was there and what you did, rather than about the hotel itself.

If we were looking for a well-appointed family hotel and didn’t much care about direct beach access? We’d probably book Prime Plaza Suites in Sanur.
It’s very sensibly priced, and you’re in a great resort town with a fabulous stretch of ocean to enjoy once you grow bored of the hotel itself.
However, we stress that it’s a family resort, and if you’re not keen on kids running around and having fun, this isn’t the right place for you.

Yes, this is a very family-friendly resort with an excellent kids’ club included for all guests and a good program of activities for children of all ages.
There are a reasonable number of facilities that families can enjoy together, too, and the hotel offers babysitting services when you need a break from each other.
However, there’s no direct access to the beach here; you’re about a 20-minute walk from the nearest beach, in fact, which might be a dealbreaker for some families.

Prime Plaza Suites is a great choice of hotel for young families looking to get a lot of value out of their time in the resort, and who aren’t too fussed about being on the beach all day, every day.
They have a decent range of facilities for everyone to enjoy, and there’s no doubt that the price tag is very reasonable for what it is.
However, if you’re not travelling with kids, you’d probably prefer to stay elsewhere unless you’re really keen on having other people’s children running around all the time.
