This resort is one of our review team’s finest resorts in Uluwatu.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that the cleaning team had done a good job at this resort, but we could occasionally move stuff and find that they hadn’t cleaned underneath it for a while.
But the maintenance team are certainly on the ball, and we didn’t notice any real issues around the property.
Sleep Quality
You’re in Uluwatu, and that means very few neighbours and thus, a guaranteed night’s peace. You’ll also find that the beds here are big and comfortable, and the rooms are well-ventilated.
Overall, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better night’s sleep on this island’s shores than you get here.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff to have that wonderful can-do warmth of the Balinese, and this was married to genuine professional competence.
The overall standard of service culture here was world-class.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in process is OK, though we would have liked to know that the cut-off for food in the resort is 10.30 p.m. We’d have brought snacks for our late arrival if we’d known.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are big and attractive, and there’s no problem getting the water pressure just right for your needs.
We were also pleased with the free toiletries, which made us feel quite special.
Value For Money
This is one of the most reasonably priced 5-star resorts in Uluwatu, and we think it’s exceptionally good value for money on that basis.
Sure, it’s not quite on the beach, but that’s fine by us; we don’t mind a little walk in exchange for the guarantee of some peace and quiet in the villa.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food and drinks felt like your standard hotel fare, always good enough and nicely presented but nothing that makes you want to come back to eat here again if you’re not staying.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Uluwatu is lovely and Balangan Beach is brilliant. The area is safe and pleasant. However, there’s no doubt that it’s also quite isolated and there’s very little within walking distance beyond the beach.
You will need transportation to explore and be warned the traffic on and off the Bukit Peninsula can be very heavy, indeed.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The facilities and amenities are as advertised and we felt that they were all maintained and cleaned properly. There was nothing that really stood out about any of it, either. It was good but not amazing.
Overall “Personality”
We can’t deny that Cross Bali breakers has real charm and the location is great for Uluwatu. We would imagine that most people would look back on their time here fondly and will be able to recall their enjoyment in the years to come. We certainly will.

Yes, Cross Bali Breakers is a reasonably family-friendly resort. That means they have private pools with every villa, so you can keep a close eye on your children as they swim.
Children get to stay for free, and can get free breakfasts too; there are also kids’ meals on the menu and snacks. They can also supply cots, rollaway beds, and certain safety equipment.
However, they don’t have a dedicated Kids’ Club nor any other dedicated children’s activities. This can lead to kids getting bored on longer stays at this resort. It’s also a long walk from most other places, meaning older kids can’t really get out and explore from here.
Final Thoughts On Cross Bali Breakers
Cross Bali Breakers is a very attractive collection of pool villas just around the corner from one of the best beaches in Bali.
Balangan Beach can get pretty crowded at times, so it’s nice to be just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it doesn’t interfere with your relaxation time by the pool.
Overall, we can’t imagine that anyone would have a bad time here, but there’s not much to do in the resort, so bear that in mind, if you want to spend a lot of time in the villa.
