Pelaga is an excellent glamping spot and ranks among the best in Bali. Other great glamping spots here include Sandat Glamping and Hideout Eco Bamboo.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
They put the hard work into cleaning up at this resort, but let’s be clear about this: these are open tents in the jungle.
Yes, they get messy pretty quickly after being cleaned. Ants, flies, bits of leaf, geckos, etc., are all going to end up in your room at some point during your stay. There is nothing the resort can do about that.
Sleep Quality
And that great outdoors vibe is also going to affect your sleep if you’re a light sleeper. Otherwise, there’s no issue with the beds, bedding, etc., it’s all very comfortable.
And there’s almost no human noise pollution due to the remote location, except, possibly, from your fellow guests, but there are tokay geckos, night birds, frogs, early morning birds, etc., and they are not silent.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
This is very much a local Balinese effort, and the service reflects the kind, warm nature of the island’s people.
However, while there’s not a lot of polish to the experience here, they will do their best to make sure things are good for you.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out are super easy, as you’d expect at a campsite in the literal middle of nowhere, and it’s not big enough for you to end up in a long queue to get to your room.
Make sure you arrange transportation before you depart, though, or you could be waiting a very long time for a ride to arrive.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are pretty basic but functional, and there’s very little (if any) hot water, which is what we’d expect, but not all tourists are au fait with Southeast Asia’s unique quirks.
However, you may also find that the geckos and other wildlife wander in during your shower, because that’s part of staying in the jungle.
Value For Money
We felt that this resort was good, but not exceptional value for money. Really, what’s on offer here is the natural world (which is free if you don’t want to sleep in a tent).
And that’s about it, but if you understand that, then you’ll be quite happy that you stayed here.
Food And Beverage Execution
There is an on-site cafe and restaurant service, and while it’s not going to end up gracing the pages of the Michelin Guide (if it ever features Indonesia), it’s more than good enough for some tasty local fare during your stay.
We found the team were more than happy to try and accommodate particular requests, especially if you give them notice or provide some of the ingredients.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This is a fabulous place and probably one of the safest areas on the island, as there’s almost nobody else about. It’s got so much natural beauty that you will always be awestruck by the world around you.
However, it is also completely isolated from the rest of the island; there’s no local pub to repair to after a day’s hiking,
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
Everything they promise on the website is available, there’s just not a whole heck of a lot of it. That’s OK, because most people come here for long jungle walks, but if you like to have a lot to do at the resort, this isn’t for you.
Overall “Personality”
Local charm and big, beautiful nature combine to deliver an immense amount of personality, and we can’t recommend staying at Pelaga Eco Park enough if you want a truly unique Bali experience.
This is the sort of trip that your friends and family will be jealous of, and you can enjoy talking about for years to come.

Pelaga Eco Park is great, but you really will be in the middle of the island, which is the middle of nowhere. So, you will need to enjoy hiking, nature and your own company to get the most out of this place.
