Note: This facility warns that, because they are in the jungle, it is impossible to entirely keep local bugs and spiders at bay, though they are all harmless enough.
It is also important to note that this facility is 90 minutes’ drive from Ubud and 2 hours from Denpasar, and even Amlapura is 30 minutes away. That means you’re very much in a Balinese natural environment, and there is not much beyond a few warungs and small shops within walking distance.
It’s worth us pointing out that Hideout scored very highly compared to the other best treehouses in Bali. Other spots for your consideration include Pelaga Eco Park and Bali Beach Glamping.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
Bugs and spiders, they warn about, and bugs and spiders there are. No, none of them is dangerous. But yes, they can be a little disturbing in the early morning when you’re just getting out of bed, all the same.
The cleaning crew do a bang-up job here, but there’s no getting around the realities of living in the jungle, no matter how hard they work, the bugs and spiders are coming back.
Sleep Quality
You’ll sleep just fine out in the jungle, and the beds are surely comfortable enough for anyone to have a great night’s kip.
But alongside the insects and the spiders come lizards and occasionally noisy lizards called tokays. They won’t hurt you, but if you’re not used to them screaming like a rooster in your ear, you may find it challenging to sleep at times.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff here were absolutely fantastic, and we felt welcome and appreciated throughout our stay at Hideout Eco Bamboo House Bali.
It’s great when they are free to resolve problems without any input required from management, too; it means you get what you need without waiting around a lot.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in experience is just fine, and this isn’t the biggest resort (though it’s bigger than some sets of treehouses), and you will be relaxing in your villa in no time.
Check out is also entirely painless, though you might have to wait around a little for a Grab or Gojek to take you to your next destination, so leave some room in your schedule for that.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are just fine, and you will be impressed with the water pressure, the towels, toiletries and the fixtures and fittings.
But if you’re lizard-averse, you may occasionally encounter lizards in the bathroom, which can be unpleasant if you feel that way.
Value For Money
We felt that Hideout was very good value for money and that we’d be happy to stay here again at the regular rate.
It’s not quite excellent, but it would need a bit of a price cut for that. We don’t think the hotel can do much more in this location to create extra value for its guests.
Food And Beverage Execution
We really enjoyed every meal and drink at Hideout; no, it wasn’t quite in the fine dining category, but it’s much better than we’d expected.
Overall, we were very pleased with this and would be happy to come back here to eat again if we were passing through.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
The area itself is one of outstanding natural beauty, and it’s very safe, as most relatively quiet parts of Bali are.
However, that does mean you need to travel if you want to enjoy things outside of the hotel and explore the rest of the island.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We were quite impressed with how mcuh this hotel can off you in the way of things to do and they are all as advertised.
Sure, there could be more, but given the overall size of this place and its secluded nature, it’s very, very good.
Overall “Personality”
You will never stop showing people pictures of your time at Hideout, it’s just a blissful experience and one that you will remember forever.
We’d love to come back here on a regular basis, if we had both the time and the money that is.

While children are allowed at Hideout Eco Bamboo House Bali, we would not describe this resort as family-friendly.
It’s an open-air, adventurous, bamboo structure, which is most definitely not suitable for youngsters who could injure themselves. There are no extra cribs or beds available.
You are exposed to the risks of the local jungle, which, while minor, could cause more problems for children, and it is a very remote area, so if a child gets hurt or sick, it’s a long time to get to medical care.
