Cleanliness and Maintenance
There is no doubt that the cleaning and maintenance staff at this property do some sterling work and that everything is as it should be, with one exception.
There is a smell of damp in some of the rooms; we know they’ve tried to combat this with various dehumidifiers, etc., but it’s still not great, though you do get used to it pretty quickly.
Sleep Quality
Our beds were big and comfortable with lovely, clean bedding, solid mattresses, and soft pillows; they’re the kind of beds that we’d like at home, in fact.
This resort is in a quiet area, but if there was any noise that carried through into the rooms, we certainly didn’t notice it. You’re pretty much guaranteed a great night’s sleep here.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found every interaction with the staff to be a delight, and there’s no doubt that they have that sense of local hospitality that people travel to Bali to experience.
We also found that they were very professional, with real attention to detail and a can-do attitude when it came to fixing problems.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in experience is just fine, though we can’t think of anything that really stood out about it either.
The same goes for checking out; you won’t have any problems getting out of your room and being on your way when the time comes.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The towels were particularly fluffy and pleasant, but the supplied toiletries were only OK, there was nothing that wowed us about them.
Overall, the bathroom was a little smaller than in similar properties, but more than good enough for getting ready for the day.
Value For Money
We felt that Metland Venya Ubud was very good value for money and that if you’re hunting around in the adults-only section of the market, you probably won’t find much better in this price range in Ubud.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site restaurant is OK, but it’s very expensive for what it is, and we’d suggest that apart from eating the breakfast (included in the room), you might as well go out and explore Ubud.
The area is home to some excellent restaurants and warungs, so you won’t be stuck for choice, and you will get better value.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
The book Eat, Pray, Love brought Ubud to the world (and then so did the film with Julia Roberts) and ever since, this tourist town has become one of the most popular places in Bali.
It’s safe, with plenty to see and do, but it can get a little crowded at times, and the traffic in and out of town is some of the island’s worst.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We felt that the facilities and amenities were as promised, but we couldn’t help feeling that maybe there could have been a little more?
Overall “Personality”
This is a lovely resort in some of the most stunning countryside that we’ve ever had the good fortune to witness, even for Bali, it’s incredible.
So, we think you’ll remember your stay at Metland Venya Ubud fondly for years to come.

Metland Venya Ubud’s setting really helps it to stand out from the crowd and there’s no doubt that our team would be happy to go back in the future.
Our only real complaint is that the on-site restaurant is merely OK, but in a town with as many dining options as Ubud, we don’t see that as a sticking point when booking.

Overall, we think that if you’re seeking an adults-only break without too many frills provided by the resort, this is a great place to come to.
And given that you’re in Ubud, there’s plenty to see and do on the doorstep, so you don’t really need the hotel to provide too much in the way of entertainment.
