Kanvaz is one of our favourite hotels in Seminyak.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
We were super impressed with the attention to detail at this resort. Cleanliness and maintenance are often the first things to slip when you move down a star rating, but at Kanvaz, things are always shipshape.
Even our team’s usual traps of moving furniture around to see if it was clean underneath led to a failure to find fault. This is great work from the team here.
Sleep Quality
We thought the beds were of a generous size, the linens, mattresses, etc., were all very comfortable, and most importantly, the rooms appear to be soundproof.
That means even when other people’s little angels are running around the hotel, you can’t hear them as you sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The service is first-rate, as good as at any of the major 5-star hotels in Bali, and you’ll be very happy with the blend of friendliness and professionalism that they show.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out are straightforward enough and unless you’re unfortunate and end up trapped behind a long line of arrivals, you shouldn’t have to wait too long to get into your room.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are acceptable, the towels are soft enough, the toiletries are OK and there’s enough room to turn around and to get clean.
Value For Money
We felt that this hotel’s lack of star ratings might have made it cheaper than it otherwise would be, and that it represented very good value for money.
If we were looking for a family hotel on a smaller budget, this would be a top consideration.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food is pretty good for this sort of hotel and we certainly think you can grab some Insta moments with their cocktails.
However, we doubt you’d come here just to eat, either. Though we did like the pastry treats from the on-site patisserie.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This is in the heart of Seminyak, and it’s a bit further from the beach than you might like, but it’s not a slog to get there, either.
Otherwise, it’s safe, accessible and there is plenty of things to do, places to eat, drink, etc. in the neighborhood.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We felt that the facilities were as advertised and that they were generally of good quality, but there wasn’t anything exceptional about them, either.
Overall “Personality”
Kanvaz Village Resort is nice enough, but while the pool area is stunning, the overall resort isn’t all that memorable.
It’s a fabulous place for a holiday, it’s just not the main attraction, and that’s fine, you’re in Bali, there’s plenty more to focus on.
Summary: Our Overview Of Kanvaz Village Resort
It may not have that extra star, but we doubt that you’ll miss it, either. Kanvaz is very good value for money and we really enjoyed our stay here.
While there was room for improvement in some areas, overall, there was nothing that detracted from our experience here.
We’d be happy to recommend this as a place to stay for most people in Seminyak.

Yes, Kanvaz Village Resort is reasonably family-friendly. There’s an outdoor pool, a decent snack bar and the rooms are soundproofed. However, there aren’t a huge number of child-specific amenities at this resort.
We should also note that while they welcome guests of any age, as long as they are accompanied by parents or guardians if under 18, they consider guests over the age of 13 to be adults from a booking perspective.
Overall, this is a good choice of hotel for a family seeking a central Seminyak location with the intent of exploring Bali together, rather than spending long periods of time in the resort.

Kanvaz Village Resort does a lot of things very well, and we can see why some people think it ought to be a 5-star resort, though we would place it at the top end of 4-star properties on the island, instead.
There is a decent range of amenities provided, and the restaurants are decent, and we really liked their patisserie.
However, it’s not the sort of resort that we’d spend all day in, we’d use it for exploring Bali and occasionally chilling by the pool. Overall, we’d recommend it to almost anyone seeking comfort in Seminyak, but without breaking the bank.
