Peppers is one of Bali’s older villa resort complex but it still has a reputation for superlative service and relaxing home-away-from-home breaks.
It’s not far from the beach and near many of the areas ameneties and attractions, which makes it an ideal spot for enjoying not just Seminyak but also the wider island with many other popular areas only a short drive away.
So, our team was looking forward to settling in at Peppers and seeing if it’s still spicy enough to deserve its excellent reputation. This is what they found there.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

Peppers’ staff have excellent attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness, and try as hard as we might, we couldn’t fault them when we checked the areas that many cleaning teams miss.
However, the maintenance team aren’t quite as on the ball, and while issues were quickly fixed when brought up, it’s best not to have to raise them in the first place.
Sleep Quality

We thought the beds were large and comfortable, and the linen, mattresses and pillows were all more than good enough for our needs.
The rooms are dark, well-ventilated, and we found that there were no noise leaks, which is something of a rarity in Seminyak.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

They certainly have the Balinese can-do spirit at Peppers, and the staff are excellent; we found they could almost anticipate our needs before we knew that we needed something.
We really enjoyed staying here, and they made us feel like more than just customers.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

There’s not that much that resorts can do with the check-in and check-out experience, but we found it efficient enough and doubt that anyone gets stuck at the front desk for very long.
They can store luggage for you if you need it, too.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms were very spacious and clean. The towels were the kind of luxury that we really love while we’re on holiday, and the supplied toiletries are first-rate too.
All told, we’d come back here just for a wash, if we could.
Value For Money

Peppers is decent value for money, but there’s no doubt that this resort is looking a little long in the tooth in places, and no amount of service can compensate for that.
Overall, it’s not bad value for money, but you have a lot of options in this price bracket, and we think there are other excellent hotels for similar money.
Food And Beverage Execution

We really enjoyed eating at Peppers and The Laneway is very nice. But overall, we found that the food wasn’t as memorable as it could have been.
Nothing was bad, but nothing really blew us away, either.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

This part of Seminyak is a lovely place to stay and you’re far enough back from the beach to avoid the worst of the noise from the party places.
You’re also in a great part of the island to go out and explore from. Overall, this area is very safe too, though a little caution late at night won’t hurt.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

We felt that the facilities and amenities were as advertised, but they are looking a little on the dated side in certain places.
Overall “Personality”

We liked Peppers and we got some nice photos of our stay here, but we don’t feel that this resort is in its prime any more and that there are places with more memorable stays here in Seminyak.
Summary: Our Overview Of Peppers Hotel

We would be happy to recomend Peppers to most people seeking a place in Seminyak. It’s a nice place and in a great location.
However, it’s definitely aging and if you’re all about the social media appeal, you might want to evaluate your options carefully.
Grading: Very Good/Happy to Return
FAQs
Is Peppers Hotel Family Friendly?
Yes, Peppers is very much a family-friendly resort with children welcome to stay in the villas. Though some guests have reported concerns about staying here with very young children due to the absence of safety railing around the pools.
Peppers also has its own in-house kids’ club, and that’s always a welcome way for children to make new friends and to enjoy some organised fun while their parents hit the spa or sink a cocktail or two by the pool.
The restaurant and in-villa dining are both happy to make dishes that are child-friendly on request, too.
Final Thoughts On Peppers Hotel
Peppers is a luxurious home away from home that offers high levels of service and exceptional villa accommodation.
The dining scene here is pretty good, and there are some on-site facilities to keep children entertained.
If you’re in search of a relaxing break in one of Bali’s busiest areas, you can do much worse than Peppers. We’d recommend it to almost anyone.
