Uluwatu may be most famous for its beaches, but thanks to the spread-out nature of the area, there’s a lot of attractive countryside to appreciate, too.
Prasana Villas takes advantage of this by providing a reasonably priced but elegant set of villas on a hillside inland from the beaches.
Our team was intrigued to see if the beauty of Bali’s lush green land could offset the minor disappointment of not being right by a beach, and this is what they discovered at Prasana Villas by Arjani Resorts in Uluwatu, Bali.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that this complex was well cleaned but that there were obvious spots that the team had missed and that maintenance was also a little haphazard.
There’s nothing to complain about, mind you, just things that could be better.
Sleep Quality

This resort guarantees peace and quiet thanks to the location and we found the beds to be very comfortable, the rooms are well-ventilated too. A great night of sleep is all but guaranteed.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

The staff are fabulous, and they bring that Balinese warmth and kindness to everything they do. We feel that they help to make a stay at Prasana Villas very much worthwhile.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in experience is fine. This is a pretty small resort, so there’s no need for anything fancy to manage queue times. You’ll be in your rooms in a jiffy after arriving.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are nice enough, and we found the water pressure to be OK (and this can be an issue in Uluwatu).
The toiletries are alright and the towels are pleasant enough too. You will be perfectly satisfied with the overall state of play here.
Value For Money

The low price tag is great, but there are some very clear reasons for that price – including the location, the absence of facilities and the access road.
That makes this place acceptable value for money, but not exceptional by any standards.
Food And Beverage Execution

We enjoyed eating at Prasana Villas, but we felt that a resort that is this remote really ought to be offering food that’s a cut above what they do provide.
It’s good hotel fare, but it’s not the sort of thing that you’d make a special trip to the resort to enjoy by itself.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

Uluwatu is nice and safe. However, there are some issues with the location here – the access road is terrible, and there’s nothing in the neighbourhood, which means you’re going to need to endure an unpleasant drive every time you want to leave or return to the resort.
You’re also not very close to a beach or any of the other attractions of Bali, so you will need to leave on a regular basis.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

The facilities here are every bit as advertised, and we liked the small touches like the use of bicycles (even though the roads don’t really make cycling much fun), but there aren’t very many facilities.
Given the location, we would hope for a bit more to do, particularly when getting in and out of this resort is so little fun.
Overall “Personality”

This is a nice villa complex in the Balinese countryside, but it’s not the most striking of resorts and while you will certainly get some lovely photos here, we doubt that it’s going to be the main talking point of your holiday when you get back home.
Summary: Our Overview Of Prasana Villas by Arjani Resorts

Uluwatu is not famous for decent value villas, and thus Prasana Villas is a welcome surprise. If you’re on a tight budget and need a villa in this part of Bali, it’s a good choice.
However, the road to the complex really is unpleasant, and if you have any sensitivities to rough rides, you may want to choose another place to stay.
We’d also note that there’s not much to do here, so you might want to bring some games, books, etc., if you plan to spend a lot of time in the villa.
Grading: Solid 4-star experience

FAQs
Is Prasana Villas by Arjani Resorts Family Friendly?
Yes, Prasana Villas by Arjani Resorts is reasonably family-friendly. The staff are kind and helpful with kids. The villas have private pools and kitchenettes for family life.
They also offer free stays for children under 5. However, the road to this villa complex is seriously rough going, and kids may not enjoy the trip at all.
We should also note that there is no Kids’ Club or other children’s facilities or activities, so you may decide that you’d prefer somewhere with more for children to do.
Final Thoughts On Prasana Villas by Arjani Resorts
The road to Prasana Villas is not much fun to traverse. But once you arrive, this is a very nice place, indeed. It’s also very reasonably priced for this part of Bali.
However, there’s not much to do at the resort, which means you’re going to have to keep going up and down that road in local transport to explore the area if you’re easily bored and there’s no beach access.
We’d be happy to recommend this place for folks looking for a short, affordable villa break on the Bukit Peninsula, but if you’re looking for a long stay, you might want to hunt around for somewhere with a bit more on-site.
