Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort Review, Nusa Dua, Bali: Modern, Lively And A Touch Impersonal

Renaissance Bali is a big hotel in Nusa Dua that is very popular with families seeking a home away from home with a nice white sand beach nearby.

This hotel is part of a large international chain, and while it has an excellent reputation, we did wonder if that corporate vibe might creep into the way we felt about the place.

So, our team were sent out to discover if the Renaissance Bali in Nusa Dua was the perfect place for a family holiday or whether it lacked a certain something. This is their experience.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

They definitely pay attention to the details at this resort and we found eveywhere to be clean and very well maintained.

There were no issues that we encountered during the course of our stay.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

You can’t go wrong with the beds at Renaissance Bali and we are pleased to note that there’s no noise coming from the corridors even when little ones are running about.

We had a great night’s sleep and we think most people will too.

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We very much liked the staff at this hotel and while the corporate edge was clear in their approach, they had been well trained and were super professional as well as friendly and approachable.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

Check-in is reasonably good, though we can imagine that if you turn up at the wrong time, you might have to wait a while as they check in a large group of people in front of you.

They can store your luggage if needed after your check out at this hotel.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are nice enough, though we did think the water pressure was a little weak. We also though the supplied toiletries were a bit bland.

Overall, though the bathroom does the job, and we had no discomfort while washing, etc.

Rating:

Value For Money

We feel that this hotel is pretty reasonably priced for Nusa Dua, which is an expensive area and tend to be full of international 5-star hotel brands packed with families.

But we didn’t think it was exceptional value, either.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

The food and beverage offering is more than good enough, but very much your standard 5-star “anywhere in the world” hotel fare, too.

You won’t be sorry you ate here, ever, but you wouldn’t rush back here to eat, either.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

Nusa Dua itself is lovely and very safe, it’s one of the best beaches on the island, too. However, it’s not particularly walkable, and it’s oddly isolated from the rest of the island.

You will find that if you want to explore Bali, you’re going to need to allow for long journeys in the hectic traffic.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

We can’t argue with the fact that this is a hotel with plenty to do on hand and lots of resources to ensure that you aren’t bored while you stay here.

If you want a place to stay where you will be entertained and rarely need to leave the resort, this will tick that box nicely.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

The corporate feel to this hotel keeps poking out around the corner whenever you least expect it, and that’s a bit sad, really.

Nusa Dua is a holiday destination, not a business one. In fact, there’s very little industry in Bali beyond the hospitality industry. So, while you will have a nice time here, the hotel itself is very much forgettable.

Summary: Our Overview Of Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort

Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort is pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a large 5-star international chain that pops up just about everywhere on Earth.

If that’s the experience you’re looking for, we can heartily recommend it; you won’t be disappointed. It’s a safe and pleasant place to stay.

However, if you were hoping for something with a bit more personality, then you might want to look elsewhere.

FAQs

Is Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort Family-Friendly?

Yes, Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua is a family-friendly resort. However, we need to stress that Lava Land, their new Kids’ Club, is still not open, and you will want to check in advance before you book if this is an important feature for your family.

They do have an on-site kids’ playground, and children are welcome throughout the resort. There are kids’ menus at most restaurants and deals on children’s stays with kids under 11 staying for free.

Overall, there’s plenty for kids to enjoy here at the moment, and when the kids’ club opens, we’d expect this to be the ideal family hotel for many holidays.

Final Thoughts On Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort

Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua is a very nice hotel, and in many respects, it’s the ideal family resort. But it feels like part of a chain at times, and the corporate edges can protrude into your holiday.

It’s not a big deal, but we feel like a lot of people come to Bali to get away from the grind and places with an “executive suite” are kind of missing that mark.

Overall, we’d recommend this hotel to most people as long as they don’t mind that slightly sterile feeling of chain hotels.
