Kuta Beach has lost a lot of its identity over the last year or so, and despite the area having plenty to offer, it feesl ike it’s in a bit of a decline.
However, the Discovery Shopping Mall is a great reason to keep on coming back to this beachfront town, and the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is about as close to the mall as it’s possible to be, without living in Starbucks, that is.
So, our team were curious to know if this would make a difference to their experience of Kuta, and this is how they found their time in Sheraton Kuta Bali Resort.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

As you’d expect from a brand-name resort, Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is very clean, and there are no real hygiene issues. Your family will be perfectly safe here.
However, there are some maintenance issues, and while things are fixed pretty quickly when you have an issue, it would be better to head things off before they become an issue.
Sleep Quality

We found the rooms to be very comfortable with good airflow. The beds were large, and the mattresses were ideal for a night’s rest. We liked the pillows and bedding, too.
It was also impressive how well they block out both noise and light. Given the kind of resort this is, we’d expected to hear kids running around, etc., but you can’t. It’s excellent for a night’s sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

The staff here were typical 5-star hotel staff on the island. Great attitudes and emphasis on ensuring a solid guest experience. They had the ability to take action as needed without consulting a superior, which is great.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

Check-in and check-out were the epitome of adequate. Though we can imagine there are occasional queues if a lot of guests arrive at once.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are a decent family bathroom, and you and your children should have no problems getting clean here. The provided toiletries are a bit meh, though; the towels are just fine.
Value For Money

Overall, we felt that the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort represents good value for money and maybe even slightly more than that.
This is a beachfront hotel, pretty much, with a very reasonable price, and while nothing stands out about staying here, we didn’t really expect it to either.
Food And Beverage Execution

The food and drinks are good and pretty much what we would expect in a family resort. You’re not going to come here to eat if you’re not staying here, but you won’t be sorry you ate here if you are.
The breakfasts are really decent, though, and ideal to set the family up for the day.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

You really can’t go wrong with this location as a family. Though we would note that the area can feel a little unsafe late at night, as it’s part of Kuta’s nightlife scene.
But apart from that, you’ve got plenty to see and do on the doorstep and are ideally positioned to explore the island too.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

All the facilities that we were promised in the marketing material were present and correct.
Nothing here was outstanding, but it was all more than good enough to have a fun family vacay.
Overall “Personality”

It’s a Sheraton, it feels like pretty much every other Sheraton that we’ve seen around the world in the last few decades.
It’s nice enough, but too corporate to have much personality. It’s fine for a holiday where you want to remember the people you shared it with more than the resort you stayed at.
Summary: Our Overview Of Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort’s big draw is that it’s basically part of the Discovery Mall and thus has a huge amount of things to do on the doorstep.
Sadly, Kuta Beach itself has been pretty badly damaged in the last year and is no longer as lovely as it once was.
However, overall, this is a solid family resort, and if you intend to spend most of your time by the pool with your family, you’ll be very happy here.
Grading: Very Good/Happy to Return
Other good resorts in Kuta include the Holiday Inn Resort Baruna and The Anvaya Beach Resort.
FAQs
Is Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort Family Friendly?
Yes, Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is extremely family-friendly. It offers room layouts and connecting rooms to serve most family groups.
It also has a Kids Club, children’s playground and a host of other child-friendly amenities that really make it a great time for the little ones to stay here.
Better still, it’s right next to the beach and to a huge international standard shopping mall with plenty of additional entertainment and dining options.
Final Thoughts On Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort
Kuta’s beach is not the best in Bali anymore; it’s been subject to large amounts of erosion this year, and even the beach path is broken.
However, it’s still a nice beach to watch the sunset from, and the area has some of the best facilities in Bali. The Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is ideal for a family holiday where you want to spend most of your time in the resort rather than out exploring the island.
It’s also very reasonably priced for a big brand-name hotel on a beachfront in Bali. Though it’s not the most memorable resort we’ve seen.
