The Anvaya, among other things, is, in our opinion, one of the finest airport hotels in Bali. It’s also one of our best 15 resorts in Kuta.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
Overall, we found that the resort staff kept this place very clean, and we couldn’t find anything when moving stuff around, looking for missed spots.
However, the maintenance team isn’t quite as on the boil, and we had leaks in the shower room, which were remedied reasonably swiftly when requested.
Sleep Quality
We thought the beds were large and comfortable, with nice bedding and good airflow over the beds for a good night’s sleep.
However, although there’s no noise from the outside world in the room, the noise from the corridors carries into the room, so you’re somewhat at the mercy of your fellow guests for an uninterrupted sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We found the staff at The Anvaya Beach Resort to be excellent, with the usual qualities of Balinese hospitality on display along with real professionalism.
They also appeared to have been empowered to resolve any issues that may arise rather than kicking them back up the chain.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
One thing we’ve come to loathe in the hotel industry is the ever-widening gap between check-in and check-out times. In at 3 p.m. but out by 11 a.m? It’s really poor. Though we can see how this benefits the hotel. This is never in the guest’s interest.
But when the hotel decides to enforce this by disabling your keycard before 11 a.m? That’s really shoddy service.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We thought the bathrooms were very good, though not the best that we’ve ever encountered and the toiletries and towels were lovely.
However, there was the issue of a leaking shower when we arrived, which, while fixed, is not what we expect in a 5-star hotel.
Value For Money
This is a cheap 5-star hotel, and we can forgive most of its flaws; however, there are cheaper options in Kuta because of the erosion on the beach, and some of those deliver even better value.
Overall, you get great value for money here, but it’s not spectacular value by any means.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site restaurants are all pretty good, and while certainly not in the fine dining league, they deliver an above-average quality of food and beverages.
We’re not sure you’d cross the island to eat here with a reservation in the hotel, but you’d definitely pop in if you were in the area.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Kuta still has plenty to offer tourists with lots of things to do and see, as well as shopping malls and cheap nightlife.
However, there’s no doubt that the erosion of the beach is off-putting, and this area can be a little sketchy at night. We’d recommend taking a cab home rather than walking the streets late at night.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
All the amenities were present and correct as promised on the website, and while they weren’t in perfect condition, they were pretty good.
Overall, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed by what’s on offer here, and there’s a decent amount of things to do too.

We think the Anvaya Beach Resort Bali is an attractive hotel which, while not in the “blow you away” league of things, is certainly going to be memorable in the years to come.

Overall, despite some minor issues, this is a very good five-star hotel for a very reasonable price in a pleasant beach town.
The only real issue with staying here is the problem with the beach itself, which is beyond the hotel’s ability to influence.
