Our team was so impressed with this resort that they elected it as one of the top adults-only resorts on the island. It’s also one of their picks of the best resorts in Uluwatu.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
With a wellness reputation, you know they’re going to be taking care of the dust, cobwebs, pollen and anything else that might cluster in unseen corners. And Asa Maia’s cleaning team is exceptional.
We also found the site to be extremely well-maintained with no obvious concerns during our stay at all.
Sleep Quality
While there is definitely some construction work in Uluwatu, it’s nowhere near here, and your sleep will be soundless and full of good dreams.
All the beds are luxurious and designed for exceptional comfort. We also found no light leaking into the rooms to spoil our mornings.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff here were exceptional and that they were always respectful, helpful and genuinely kind throughout every interaction.
We were also impressed that the buggy service (this hotel is recessed from the road and you can’t just wander up to the road easily) was always available when needed.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
This isn’t the biggest resort, and thus, check-in and check-out are very easy, and you’re going to find yourself in your rooms in a jiffy. We like that they are happy to store luggage if you need them to after check-out.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are nice, but the outdoor hot tub area wasn’t perfect, with some of the local wildlife trapped in there (it’s not something the resort can do much about, mind you, that’s the tropics for you).

We think if you opt for The Asa Maia just for a holiday, you’re going to think it’s good value for money; if you come for their wellness focus, you may think it’s great or even exceptional value.

But you’re a long way from anywhere and need a buggy to even get to the road, where you will need to arrange transportation to get anywhere else.
