Cleanliness and Maintenance
There were some minor issues with cleanliness in this hotel, nothing that counts as concerning, but they need to move more things in the rooms and clean under them, not just around them.
Overall, we felt that the maintenance of most things in the resort was pretty good, though.
Sleep Quality
This resort is away from the main road, and the rooms don’t seem to have any noise leaks coming in.
The beds are large, the mattresses are excellent, and the pillows are comfy. There’s no light coming in through the curtains either. It’s easy to get a great night’s sleep here.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that mostly the staff were friendly and professional, but that they were also being micromanaged and were less able to make useful decisions themselves without having to refer the issue up the totem pole. Things were always resolved, but rarely as efficiently as they could be.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in process is efficient enough, and we doubt that you’ll ever be hanging around for very long at Kappa Senses, and check-out is completely painless.

Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are big, easy to use, with some nice toiletries (eco-friendly too) and the water pressure is excellent. The towels are very nice.
Value For Money
Overall, we felt like we got our money’s worth at Kappa Senses Ubud, it’s not spectacular value for money, but nobody should leave feeling cheated here.
Food And Beverage Execution
It’s a wellness resort, so there’s an emphasis on healthy eating, and we felt that the food quality was very good, but the execution of service often felt confusing and overwhelming.
There are often too many staff present for simple tasks like breakfast, and everyone feels like they are tripping over each other.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
While normally we’d give big props to this location, which is in a quiet part of Ubud, for some reason, they won’t allow Grab or Gojek taxis into this area, which means that you’re going to have to pay taxi mafia rates or walk a fair distance to get a sensibly priced ride.
Otherwise, this is a nice spot, and there are other restaurants and facilities within walking distance.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The wellness facilities here really are first rate, and we felt that if anything, they overdeliver on this part of the experience.
If you want family-focused wellness, this is a great choice of hotel.
Overall “Personality”
We thought that Kappa Senses Ubud was a very attractive place, but that it lacked a really standout identity to make it truly memorable.
Don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of nice images for your Instagram feed, and your friends will be jealous; it’s just that this is true of almost all the hotels in Bali.
Summary: Our Overview Of Kappa Senses Ubud Hotel
We confess we were expecting a bit more from Kappa Senses Ubud; it’s a nice enough place, and certainly, if you’re on a wellness jaunt and want your family with you, it’s a great choice.
But overall, we don’t think it does enough to distinguish itself and there are other great choices in this price bracket in Ubud.
