Note: We thought that Bambu Indah was the best treehouse of them all in Bali during our review process. It’s also one of the best places to stay in Ubud.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
Bambu Indah’s cleaning and maintenance team is world-class, but there’s really nothing you can do in an environment so exposed to the elements except endure a little natural mess.
It’s really not too bad and much better than at some of the cheaper tree house resorts, but you’re going to run into bugs and other things at times. It’s just the nature of where you are.
Sleep Quality
Assuming that you like peace and quiet with the gentle buzz of nature in the background, we can’t see why anyone would have a bad night’s sleep at Bambu Indah.
You’re going to find yourself in a large, comfortable bed with all the accompaniments to ensure you wake feeling refreshed and ready to face the day.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
This is a 5-star resort in Bali, and like all such places, the service culture is absolutely excellent. The staff here obviously care about making the guest experience as positive as possible.
You’ll find that interactions are a genuine joy, and if you do have issues, they’ll be working on resolving them asap. There’s no waiting around for permission to get things done.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in is painless enough, and you’ll be in your accommodation within minutes of arriving at the resort.
Check out is also very easy, but please be aware that you might need to book a ride-share a bit earlier than normal as this location is slightly out of the way.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms at Bambu Indah are excellent and they’re very well appointed with good towels and toiletries.
We were also pleased to note that the water pressure was as strong as needed too.
Value For Money
We can’t quite shake the feeling that this is an expensive hotel but Bambu Indah certainly felt like above average value for money all the same.
Resorts like this take a lot of maintenance to keep them looking amazing for the guests and we suspect that’s why we can’t quite give this an “excellent” status.
Food And Beverage Execution
The on-site restaurant and warung are very good, bordering on the excellent and we enjoyed every meal that we had at Bambu Indah.
The emphasis on plant-based eating might not suit everyone’s palate, but if it suits yours? Your quids in here.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This hotel is close to Ubud, but not really walking distance close. So, if you want to explore this area, you’re going to need transportation.
And be warned, traffic in and out of Ubud can be an absolute nightmare at busy periods.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
We were very impressed with the range of facilities on offer to guests at Bambu Indah and even more impressed with the quality of those facilities.
You’re not going to get bored easily when you stay here.
Overall “Personality”
This stunning tree house hotel is absolutely overflowing with personality and we can’t imagine that there’s a single person who stays here that doesn’t go home raring to talk abou their experience.
It’s one of the prime reasons for choosing a treehouse rather than something a bit more ordinary, after all.
Summary: Our Overview Of Bambu Indah
If you want that treehouse vibe, then Bambu Indah is the place to go in Bali. It’s without a doubt the best of this kind of villa resort set up and we’d be delighted to go back.
When you want to spend some time in nature but still being pampered and surrounded by creature comforts, this is your first pick.

Is Bambu Indah Family Friendly?
Yes, Bambu Indah is a family-friendly resort. They offer large villa options where the whole family can stay together (up to 6 people in one villa).
They have some child-friendly activities like cow bathing, exploring the local gardens and country and swimming in natural pools.
However, we should note that this resort is probably not ideal for toddlers, due to the steep rocky trails and suspension bridges here.
Final Thoughts On Bambu Indah
Bambu Indah is a fabulous place for a genuinely serene environment with a real sense of adventure alongside it.
There is an emphasis on the island itself here, so you should be prepared to spend time outdoors and occasionally encounter “real nature”.
