Bali is generally speaking a very family friendly place and many of the island’s visitors come here as a family unit to get away from it all together.
This isn’t always great fun for those people who come to Bali without children in tow and some resorts can be pretty rowdy when they’re full of kids letting off steam.
So, 11 on Kajeng makes a nice change for those people as it’s an adults-only resort in the heart of Ubud. Our review team was very interested in that concept, so they headed out to learn more and this is what they discovered.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
Overall, things are kept pretty clean at 11 on Kajeng but if you check in some of the harder to reach places, there’s a little dust that ought not to be there.
It’s not the end of the world and we felt that maintenance was pretty tight at 11 on Kajeng, generally, but it’s there all the same.
Sleep Quality
The beds are comfortable, though not best in class and the mattresses are decent with good quality pillows.
However, there is a little noise bleed between rooms, particularly with the air conditioning units which can interfere with a great night’s sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff at 11 on Kanjeng were lovely and very much into trying to deliver a first rate experience for every guest.
However, we didn’t always feel that they’d been empowered to do their jobs without referring things up the ladder to management.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check in was easy enough and this isn’t a huge hotel, you won’t be waiting forever to get through the process, but there are definitely ways to streamline this side of the operation.
Check-out is completely pain free and they do offer luggage storage if you need it before your flight.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We felt that the bathrooms were more than adequate to the task. They were of a decent-size and everything worked properly. The towels weren’t the best but they weren’t bad either.
Value For Money
This property is quite reasonably priced for Bali as a whole and we certainly didn’t feel ripped off, but it’s in an area with a lot of lower cost options and we didn’t feel that it offered enough more than those places to be considered great value.
Food And Beverage Execution
While we understand that influencers love floating breakfasts because it gives them something for their TikTok reels, we don’t really see why anyone would want to eat their food while they’re dripping wet in a pool.
Overall, we felt that the food and drinks here were good enough, but we wouldn’t make a special trip to the hotel for them.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This hotel is in the heart of Ubud and you’re a few minutes walk from the main market, the Ubud Palace and several other attractions.
It’s also super easy to get transportation in this area and you can use 11 on Kanjeng as a base to explore central Bali.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The hotel’s facilities are as advertised and they are all good enough too. It’s not the most feature packed hotel, but it doesn’t really need to be as it’s in a town with plenty to see and do.
Overall “Personality”
We didn’t really feel that 11 on Kanjeng had a unique identity, it’s a nice enough place and you can grab some nice snaps for Instagram but it won’t blow you away, either.
In particular, the rooms look a bit on the basic side (as opposed to minimalist) and could use a little more “something” to make them more appealing.
Summary: Our Overview Of 11 On Kajeng
If you want an adults-only break in Ubud, you can certainly do worse than 11 on Kajeng. It’s a decent operation that is competently run though without any real defining characteristics of its own.
The food was good, the service was good, the facilities were as advertised and overall, we think for the price it was decent value too.

No, 11 on Kajeng is one of Bali’s least family-friendly environments and children are not allowed on to the property at all. This is an adults-only hotel.
If you are travelling with your family, don’t worry, there are plenty of other options for you in Ubud where your kids can enjoy everything from Kids Club services to children’s swimming pools.
Final Thoughts On 11 On Kajeng
Sometimes, you just want some time away from the world and from little kids running around. That’s not to say that children aren’t delightful, they are, but just being around your fellow adults shouldn’t be a big ask, either.
11 on Kajeng provides a pleasant space to do just that and it does so at a very reasonable price point.
We’d be happy to recommend this spot in Ubud as an adults-only getaway for a few days. Our only note of caution is that there’s not much to do in the hotel itself, so long stays might not be as much fun.
