Cleanliness and Maintenance
We found that this resort was incredibly clean and well-maintained and that they really spent a lot of effort attending to the small details that it’s easy to overlook.

Sleep Quality
There’s a monkey forest in Ubud, it’s very famous and sadly, the monkeys don’t know they’re only expected to stay in the forest.
That means that while the rooms here are big, airy and comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, they occasionally have monkeys rapping on the windows (or entering the room if you were foolish enough to leave something open before going to bed).
This is a charming experience to some, and a nightmare to others.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We felt that the staff here were very good and had that Balinese hospitality down to a fine art; however, we didn’t feel that they had the power to make decisions by themselves.
All too often, a small issue took too long to resolve because it had to be run past a manager before a simple solution was implemented.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in and check-out are both fine, and you won’t spend very long before you’re in (or out) of your rooms.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are excellent, big and comfortable, with quality fittings, nice towels and toiletries and good water pressure and hot water availability.
Value For Money
We felt that this resort was great value for money, bordering on excellent and that it may not be long before it crosses the finish line to a top grading.
Kaamala Resort & Spa Ubud should be a flagship in the iNi ViE portfolio; it does so much well that it’s easy to overlook any minor flaws.
Food And Beverage Execution
The absolute shining star of a stay at this resort is the restaurant and dining capacity, which is very much an elevated fine dining experience.
Would we come back here just to eat? You bet we would. Though, fortunately, as Shichirin’s twin is in Canggu, we don’t have to drive that far to eat this excellent Japanese food.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Ubud is a lovely place, and there’s no doubt that the art markets, temples, palaces, yoga shalas, and monkey forest are all a big draw.
However, the downside of having lots of things to do is popularity, and it can get a bit crowded at times, and the traffic here is some of the worst in Bali.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
All the facilities and amenities are as advertised, and we felt that, mainly, they were in very good working order too.
Overall, we think there’s enough to keep you entertained for a short break in Ubud, without an issue.
Overall “Personality”
iNi ViE is an odd brand; while some of its properties are not that great, some of them are very good, indeed, and fortunately, Kaamala Resort & Spa Ubud is the latter.
We think that if you stay here, you’re going to remember the time that you had favourably for years to come. It’s a splendid hotel complex with wonderful food.

This resort has to be among the very best properties managed by iNi ViE and we’d be very happy to stay here again.
We can’t imagine anyone having a bad time here, particularly if you love good food, served on-site so you don’t have far to go to fall asleep afterwards.

Yes, children of any age are welcome to stay at the Kaamala Resort & Spa Ubud with their parents or guardians. However, children above the age of 11 are charged as adults.
In addition, while you can get a cot for free on request, extra beds run at a pricey 1,400,000 IDR per night per person (that’s about $85 USD or $140 AUD).
However, not only does this property not have any child-specific facilities, but the pool is adults-only. So, unless your kids are over the age of 12, we’d probably skip this place as a family.

The Kaamala Resort & Spa is a very attractive resort with some minor hiccups, and if you’re looking for a spot to explore Ubud from, it will do nicely.
Do make sure that if you want to book for a family, you understand the swimming pool is adults-only, though (which means over 12 in this instance).
Overall, we’d be happy to recommend this property to people who are happy with the overall offering and, in particular, to those seeking good restaurants in the property.
