Cleanliness and Maintenance
This hotel’s cleaning team is a crack unit that keeps the place spotless, but there’s no maintenance team in the world that can disguise the fact that this place is a little aged, now.
The lobby and pool area, in particular, look a bit tire,d and while they’re still both nice enough, their glory days are long gone.
Sleep Quality
One of the joys of being in a part of the island which is relatively spread out is that there’s not much noise and while they definitely have kids in this hotel, we didn’t hear them running about in the mornings, either.
Overall, we had a very good night’s sleep on a comfortable and pleasant bed.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
We loved the staff here and thought that they did a great job of making us always feel welcome and at home.
This is Bali, so friendliness comes naturally, but Swiss-Belresort deserves credit for the level of professionalism on display, too.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
The check-in and check-out is OK. This is a reasonable size hotel, so if you’re unlucky, you might get caught behind a big group and have to wait a while to get to your room.
But that didn’t happen to us on our visit.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are very nice but the little details that 5-star hotels provide are missing, the toiletries are so-so, there are no face/hand towels, that kind of thing.
It’s not holiday spoiling, but it isn’t quite perfection either.
Value For Money
For this price in Uluwatu you simply cannot feel that Swiss-Belresort is anything other than excellent value for money.
Sure, it’s a bit long in the tooth and there are minor flaws, but overall? It’s extraordinary that you get so much paying this litte in one of Bali’s most popular areas.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food and drinks are all nice enough and they taste good and look alright. But they don’t do much to distinguish themselves and we can’t even imagine crossing the road to come back for the food unless we were staying here.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
It’s Uluwatu, so the area around you is attractive and safe, but this hotel is quite a long way from the beach and that means you will need transportation.
You’ll also find if you want to see anything else of interest, it’s not in walking distance, so that can be a bit of a downside of staying here.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The facilities and amenities are as advertised and all in decent repair, though nothing here is likely to stand out and really wow you, either.
Overall “Personality”
Swiss-Belresort is a nice four-star property like many other chain four-star properties around Bali and indeed, the world as a whole.
It’s not the sort of place you rave about for years to come, but it’s nice enough and that’s all that matters at this price range.

We think Swiss-Belresort Pecatu is a nice place to stay and it’s good value for money. The location is the biggest downside of staying here, but Grab/Gojek ride-shares are cheap enough in Bali.
Unless you absolutely must have beach acccess, this is a great choice if you’re on a budget and heading to Uluwatu.

They have a free Kids’ Club, which is a very nice touch for a resort in this price bracket, and a good outdoor pool. Guests can also access Klive Beach Club free of charge, which is a superb perk if you want to enjoy the beach in style.
However, there aren’t many specialist children’s facilities on-site, but frankly, in this price bracket, we think you’ll find it hard to beat Swiss-Belresort Pecatu’s family offering.
Final Thoughts On Swiss-Belresort Pecatu
The Swiss-Belresort Pecatu isn’t perfect. Certainly, one sticking point for travellers is that it’s a long way from the beach, so you’re going to need transportation.
However, transport isn’t expensive in Bali, and you’re going to save plenty of money by staying here, and the lush countryside setting is quite lovely.
Overall, we can’t find any reason not to stay at Swiss-Belresort Pecatu. If you’re on a budget and have your heart set on Uluwatu, this is great value for money.
