Kubah Bali Glamping might be Bali’s most affordable glamping site, but we need to warn you, getting here is really tough. The roads are very rough, and without an experienced local driver, they are straight up dangerous.
Once you arrive, you are greeted by some of the finest views in Bali and some fairly plasticky-looking dome tents.
However, as our team had made the effort to get up to this highland destination, they weren’t leaving without a review, and this is what they learned here.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
This place is pretty basic, and you’re going to have to contend with the usual natural world encroaching on your personal space as you’ll be staying in a tent.
However, overall, it’s kept very clean, and we think you’ll be very happy to stay here. With the proviso that Kintamani has a fly season. And if you stay during that season, you may find yourself quite literally plagued by flies during the day.
Sleep Quality
The beds are not the comfiest we’ve ever slept on, but given the nightly rate, we have no real complaints either.
You’re not going to have to worry about any noise pollution here, as it’s well away from anywhere else, but you may find that sunrise sees sunlight spilling into your tent.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The people here offer classic Balinese hospitality. That is it’s warm, friendly and genuine, and there’s a real desire to help.
However, don’t expect perfection; this isn’t a 5-star beach resort, it’s a small glamping site in a less-visited part of Bali. They will try their best.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
It’s really not very hard to check into a campsite, and you’ll arrive and fairly swiftly find yourself being ushered into a tent.
However, you really need to make sure you have arranged ongoing transport at the end of your stay, getting a ride out in the highlands of Kintamani is extremely challenging most of the time.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We wouldn’t swap our home bathrooms for the bathrooms at this resort, but given that it’s a budget glamping site, the bathrooms were better than expected.
Just be aware that it’s a campsite, you will find the occasional bug or lizard or sometimes both wandering through as you go about your business.
Value For Money
We don’t think it’s possible to be better value for money than Kubah Bali Glamping. The little dome tents are super Instagrammable and at less than $20 USD, much of the time, there’s nothing to complain about.
If you’re on a tight budget, this is a wonderful way to experience Bali without splurging out serious money.
Food And Beverage Execution
They can provide some basic food and drinks at this campsite, but we strongly recommend bringing some of your own and then hitting up the barbecue facilities here.
Camping is what you make it, and we think that it’s always better to create your own vibe in a place like this.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This is in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled locations in Bali, and there’s no doubt in our minds that you’ll love the views. It’s also extremely safe.
However, the downside is that it really is in the middle of nowhere and if you want to go beyond the locality, you need your own transportation.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
All the facilities and amenities promised are present and accounted for and in decent condition. But really, for $20 a night? There aren’t very many of them and while that’s fine, we can’t help but wish for a bit more.
Overall “Personality”
We can’t imagine that you will ever forget a stay at Kubah Bali Glamping and yes, some of it will be a touch comical in recollection but overall, we think you’ll leave this place with positive memories of a very unusual trip in Bali.

Kubah Bali Glamping is great. It’s the ideal spot if you are on a backpacker’s budget and you want to enjoy the natural beauty of Bali without spending a fortune.
Kintamani doesn’t get as many visitors as it deserves and as long as you avoid the fly season (seriously, avoid it), it’s a great place to stay.

Yes, Kubuh Bali Glamping is family-friendly. Children of any age are welcome to check into this resort as long as they are accompanied by their parents or guardians.
There are, however, no extra cots or beds available at this property, and there are no child-specific facilities available of any kind.
This is an ultra-basic resort for a view and the chance to hike in Bali’s countryside, and nothing more than that. Whether this will suit your family or not is down to you.
Final Thoughts On Kubah Bali Glamping
In addition to the issues with getting to this resort, you should also know that this area is plagued by flies during the rainy season and that January and February are the peak season for this infestation. We don’t recommend glamping at that time of year.
However, otherwise, if you’re an adventurous sort, smart enough to rely on a local driver for the journey up to the resort, you’re going to be happy that you went to Kubah Bali Glamping.
Sure, it’s pretty basic, but it’s also very cheap, and the views are to die for. We’d go back, and we suspect, so would anyone else who goes.
