The Grand Seminyak abuts the beach, and there’s no doubt at all that it’s in a great position for exploring the Seminyak area.
However, we were curious to learn a little more about this attractive resort, as we have often been past it, but never been in before, and this seemed like the perfect time to visit.
So, our review team packed their bags and headed out to discover what makes the Grand Seminyak in Seminyak, Bali, a worthy candidate for your holiday destination.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that the rooms were very clean at the Grand Seminyak, but we have to confess we felt that there were parts of this hotel that looked a little shabby.
That’s on the maintenance team, rather than the cleaners, though. We were just expecting a bit more attention to detail. It’s not holiday-ruining stuff, but things like this matter.
Sleep Quality

The beds weren’t very comfortable here compared to many other hotels in the area. Otherwise, the rooms were well-ventilated.
But noise can carry to the room from the pool area which doesn’t close until 10 p.m. so if you like an early night, that might be a touch inconvenient.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We felt that the staff here were excellent and despite the hotel’s shortcomings, they worked hard to ensure we had a lovely stay.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

Check-in and check-out were fine; you might need to wait a couple of minutes if you get caught behind a group checking in, but otherwise, you will be swiftly moving towards your room after arrival.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathroom was clean and fresh, but not the biggest nor the best that we’ve tried. The toiletries were just alright, and the towels were a little faded looking.
Value For Money

This is a reasonably inexpensive resort in Seminyak, which means it’s acceptable value for money. If it had been much more expensive, we might have downgraded it to poor value for money, but for now, it’s definitely not a rip-off.
Food And Beverage Execution

The food and beverages were just fine, but as with much of the Grand Seminyak’s offerings, we just didn’t find ourselves delighted by any of it, either.
You’ll get some nice snaps for your socials, but we doubt you’ll be raving about what you ate the next day.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

You can’t go wrong staying in this part of Seminyak, you’re right next to the beach and within short walking distance of much of the nightlife, shopping, etc. in the area.
You can also easily use this location as a base to explore the rest of Bali. Seminyak is also a safe and pleasant area, though late at night it can sometimes be a little rowdy.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

The amenities are exactly as advertised, and they are all very much OK, but not once did we feel they’d gone above and beyond to try to surpass our expectations.
We think the best thing about this place is probably the Moonlite Rooftop Bar, but mostly, that’s down to the view rather than the bar itself.
Overall “Personality”

One thing we felt strongly about was that this resort is a lot of “OK” stuff rather than moments of delight. We don’t think anyone will regret staying here, per se, but we also doubt you will remember it fondly in the years to come.
It feels like Accor is trying to get by with the minimum of investment in maintaining this place, and it’s starting to feel a little past its prime.
Summary: Our Overview Of Grand Seminyak – Lifestyle Boutique Bali Resort

We were a little disappointed in the Grand Seminyak. While it’s not a bad hotel, and we’d be happy enough to recommend it to most people, we do feel that it needs a little love and attention to bring it up to its full potential, now.
With the market in Seminyak being so highly competitive, we think that you might find that there are other hotels that speak more to your tastes and budget if you look around.
Grading: Solid 4-star experience
FAQs
Is Grand Seminyak – Lifestyle Boutique Bali Resort Family Friendly?
Yes, Grand Seminyak is what we would consider a reasonably family-friendly resort. They allow children under the age of 12 to stay for free with their parents, which can help keep your holiday costs down.
There is a decent number of facilities available that will appeal to kids, from the pools to the gym and garden; however, there are very few specifically child-friendly amenities, either.
And the Grand Seminyak does not have a Kids’ Club, so if you need your kids to be entertained throughout their stay, this may not be the right resort for them.
Final Thoughts On Grand Seminyak – Lifestyle Boutique Bali Resort
Grand Seminyak Lifestyle Boutique Bali Resort may have a very long name, but we feel that there’s plenty to recommend the place to most visitors to Seminyak.
Sure, there’s no Kids’ Club or luxury villas, but the suites are very nice, and the location is fabulous with easy access to most of the area on your doorstep.
We’d encourage you to book the Grand Seminyak if you feel that it speaks to your budget and aesthetic tastes, but we would note there is a lot of choice in Bali at this price bracket.
