Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate Review, Jimbaran, Bali: A Sanctuary On The Shore

The objective of the Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate is to give visitors the feeling of living in a luxurious and modern Balinese village, to inspire a sense of community among their guests.

This is a villa-only resort, and the layout is based on villages here on the island to provide a touch of authenticity.

It looked so pretty in the pictures online that our team was extremely excited to spend some time here, and this is what they discovered about Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

It’s the little details that tend to trip hotels up in this category. We’ve never come across a dirty hotel or a place that leaves us in fear of their hygiene standards.

It’s just if you move things that are a little hard to move in the corners of rooms, or jiggle fittings around a little, there’s a touch of dust here and there. It’s no bigger, it’s just not perfect.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

The quality of our sleep was phenomenal, the beds are very big and comfortable, the mattresses feel really good, and the pillows are just what we wanted.

The rooms don’t leak light or sound (not that there is much sound to leak; this area is pretty quiet, and the spacing between villas means it’s hard for noise to carry from any of your neighbours, too).

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

Because this is a spaced-out resort, staff have to be empowered to make decisions, or you’re going to spend most of your stay resolving issues with managers who have to be brought to you.

Fortunately, the staff here are excellent, and we never found them pushing things up the chain; they just got on with ensuring you have a wonderful stay.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in and check-out processes are pretty straightforward, and this isn’t a big resort; you’ll be in your room fast enough.

And there’s no problem storing bags if you need to prior to check-in or after check-out.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are excellent, as they tend to be in villa-style properties, and they’re large with more than enough amenities and toiletries to have a genuinely pleasurable experience washing.

We liked the towels a lot, too.

Rating:

Value For Money

There’s a lot of competition at this price point, and while we felt that Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate was good value for money, it doesn’t quite do enough to distinguish itself either and move further up the value chain.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

The dining experience here is first-rate, and the culinary team should be congratulated for their skills and breadth of ingredients.

We liked the focus on local seafood too, which is always a good thing.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

This is a nice place but there’s nothing much within the immediate vicinity of the hotel and you will need transportation if you want to explore beyond the local beach.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

The facilities and amenities here are very much as advertised and they are all in good working order, we just wish there was a bit more of them. It would be easy to get bored here on a long stay, we feel.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate certainly has its own unique identity, and beyond looking good in your holiday photographs, the Balinese village concept works pretty well.

We think it stands out enough that you’ll remember your stay here in the years to come and that your memories will be happy ones.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate and overall, we felt it was good value for money and that the dining experience was excellent.

We’d be happy to recommend this spot for a short stay with family, friends or even as a couple, but there’s not quite enough to do, to recommend it for a very long stay in Bali.

FAQs

Is Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate Family-Friendly?

Yes, Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate is family-friendly. The resort policy is to allow children under the age of 11 to stay for free with their parents or guardians.

They also offer regular “Family Escape” packages that include activities such as cooking classes for all the family. However, we should note that this resort does not offer any child-specific facilities.

So, if you think the pool and gardens aren’t enough to keep your little ones entertained, you might want to consider a different place to stay.

Final Thoughts On Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate

There is no doubt that Kayumanis Jimbaran Private Estate is an excellent villa layout with a touch of traditional Balinese village about it.

The estate is very much tailored to those seeking a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, and there’s not a whole lot to do at Kayumanis itself.

We’d be happy to recommend this place for some chilling in Jimbaran, but it’s not somewhere we’d pick if we wanted a more lively holiday experience.
