The Intercontinental name is synonymous with big five-star properties, and this behemoth in Jimbaran, Bali, certainly lives up to that promise.
There are endless rooms to choose from and so many facilities at this hotel that you could spend a long time just working through the brochure, working out what to do with yourself.
So, our staff were pretty fascinated to find out how all these choices would feel in person, and this is what they learned at Intercontinental Bali Resort by IHG in Jimbaran.

This is an excellent hotel, and our team recently recognised it as one of the best airport hotels on the island and as one of the best beachfront hotels on the island, too.
Cleanliness and Maintenance

It’s a very big resort, and that always means that things will get missed. We don’t blame anyone for that, and hygiene is more than acceptable throughout. It’s just that little details don’t always get attended to.
Sleep Quality

We felt that the rooms had no light or sound leaks and that the beds were large with comfortable mattresses and pillows, and there was good ventilation too. You’ll sleep well here.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

Bali’s service culture and the attitude of local staff is always good and in 5-star resorts, like this one, it’s almost always world-class and so it is at the Intercontinental Bali Resort.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

The check-in and check-out process is pretty painless given the size of the resort and there won’t be much delay getting to your room.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are excellent, big, with great ameneties and toiletries, the towels are very nice too.
Value For Money

We think that this resort is exceptional value for money and it’s much cheaper than many similar family-oriented hotels, particularly on this side of the island.
If you’re looking for a bargain in Jimbaran, this is where to find it.
Food And Beverage Execution

We liked the food and beverage offerings, and with so many outlets, we think they did a great job of things across the board.
It’s not world-class, but we never felt disappointed in the food and drinks, either.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

The location itself is attractive enough, and the beach here is decent, but you’re going to have to travel quite a bit if you want to see any of the sights that Bali is famous for.
It’s not a terrible place to be, and this area is world famous for seafood, but it’s not always convenient either.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

There are so many facilities available at this hotel that you feel absolutely spoiled for choice just thinking about what to do next.
And they are all very nicely maintained and fully operational to ensure you have a fabulous time of things. This is a major reason that you’d choose this hotel.
Overall “Personality”

This hotel is nice enough, but the overall scale of the place and its slightly corporate nature don’t really lend it a distinct personality.
You will get some lovely Instagram shots, but over the years, it will become harder to distinguish this resort from any other large, big-name resort.
Summary: Our Overview Of Intercontinental Bali Resort by IHG

We had a great time at the Intercontinental Bali Resort by IGH, and there’s no doubt that this hotel has the kind of amenities that can keep you entertained for weeks on end, without ever needing to leave the grounds.
It’s exceptionally good value for money at this price point and comes in lower than most similar 5-star resorts in Bali.
Overall, if you want a family holiday without too much travel outside of the resort grounds, you can do much worse than this hotel in Jimbaran.
Grading: Excellent/Highly Recommended
Our team feels that this is one of the best hotels in Jimbaran but there are other great resorts here including AYANA and Kayumanis.
FAQs

Yes, Intercontinental Bali Resort by IHG is family-friendly. In fact, this is one of the most family-friendly resorts in Bali.
There is an excellent kids club, the rooms often have joining partitions to allow families to stay together easily, and there are a host of leisure activities and facilities that kids are bound to love.
It’s also a very big resort with a lot of facilities, so children don’t tend to get underfoot for those wanting a less child-heavy experience.
Final Thoughts On Intercontinental Bali Resort by IHG
For the asking price, Interncontinental Bali Resort by IHG is great value for a family holiday in a nice coastal location on the island.
Sure, it’s not quite as polished as some of the smaller, boutique resorts, but given the scale of the operation, it’s excellent.
We’d be happy to recommend this resort to anyone looking for a fun family vacation or a holiday with plenty to do in the resort itself.
We should probably also mention that we consider this to be one of the best family-friendly spots on the island an honour it shares with The St. Regis and Conrad Bali.
