Cleanliness and Maintenance
The Conrad is a very big hotel, and it’s getting a little old now by Bali standards. Despite this, the overall standard of cleanliness is very good.
And the maintenance team does well with what must be an ever more complex task of ensuring that the common areas look and function properly.
Sleep Quality
This hotel is very much a family hotel, and that means there is the risk of little kids running up and down the corridors and making a bunch of noise; some of this noise will leak into your room.
The good news is that this mainly happens after breakfast time, and otherwise, the rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed to ensure a good night’s sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff at The Conrad are as good as the illustrious name on the door suggests that they should be, and you’ll be greeted with Balinese warmth and hospitality.
You’ll also find that everyone here is very professional and focused on customer satisfaction; they’ll do all they can to ensure you have a fabulous experience.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out are painless enough, and given the size of the hotel, that’s really all you can ask for. But be prepared to walk a little to reach your rooms.
As with most big hotels, they can easily store your luggage for you if you need them to after you check out.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are a little on the older side now and could, perhaps, use a bit of refreshing when it comes to the fixtures and fittings.
Otherwise, they’re spacious, the toiletries, towels, etc., are very good, and it’s no chore to spend some cleaning time in this hotel’s bathrooms.
Value For Money
We felt that, given the location and style of the hotel, The Conrad represents above-average value for money.
But this very much depends on taking advantage of the amenities and facilities provided by the resort. If you just want a place to lay your head for the night, you can do so for less.
Food And Beverage Execution
There is a wealth of restaurants and bars at The Conrad, and we found them all to be consistently above average.
We’re not 100% positive that we’d travel very far just to eat here, but we’d certainly pop in if we were in the neighbourhood.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Tanjung Benoa is a great place for sunbathing and enjoying water sports, but it’s quite removed from the rest of the island and even the local area is very spread out.
There’s very little within walking distance of this hotel, so if you want to get out and explore, you will need some form of transportation.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The Conrad is hands down one of the best hotels on the island when it comes to in-house facilities and amenities, and they are all of a consistently high standard of quality, too.
This is definitely a resort where you can spend a lot of time in the grounds and have an amazing holiday.
Overall “Personality”
We felt that The Conrad was past its glory days, and there’s a very distinct corporate edge to the overall experience of staying here.
We’re not complaining, we thought it was a good place to stay, but not one of those hotels that sticks in memory for very long.
Summary: Our Overview Of Conrad Bali
The Conrad Bali is a first-rate family hotel, and we can strongly recommend staying here if you want a beach holiday, near some excellent water sports venues with your kids.
However, we’re not sure we’d recommend it to those who’d prefer a child-free resort; this place is very hectic with kids at times.
