We find that more and more people are coming to Bali not just for a holiday but to try and get their whole being back on a healthier track.
The Six Senses resort in Uluwatu caters both to the casual holidaymaker and to the more wellness-inclined traveller. That can make it a great choice for couples or families where not everyone has the same needs from their getaway.
Our team was curious to see how this mix would play out in reality, and they went off to see Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali, for themselves, and this is their report on how things really are at this luxury resort.

This resort is one of our top picks for places to stay in Uluwatu.
Cleanliness and Maintenance

This is a gorgeous hotel, and every little detail seems to be taken care of by the cleaning and maintenance team.
We simply couldn’t find any faults as our team pored over everything with a careful eye. They take this stuff seriously at Six Senses.
Sleep Quality

Uluwatu is a great place for peace and quiet, and the Six Senses vibe is calm and relaxed rather than hectic holidays and family frolics.
The rooms are quiet, well-aired and without light leaks, and the beds are large, comfortable and entirely conducive to sleep.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture

As with pretty much all the best hotels in Bali, the service culture is exceptionally good at Six Senses, and you’ll feel like you are the reason people come to work in the mornings.
It’s a nice feeling and makes you feel like you picked the right place to stay.
Check-in/Check-out Experience

Check-in and check-out are fine if unremarkable. You won’t be hanging around waiting to get into a room, and while this is a decent-sized resort, we can’t imagine huge parties of people arriving to block up the reception, either.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms were OK at Six Senses, but we didn’t feel like they were a highlight of our stay. The water pressure is OK, the toiletries are nice and overall, we were happy to wash up here; we just didn’t feel tempted to spend half a day preening in front of the mirror here.
Value For Money

This is quite an expensive resort, and we feel that it offers good value for money; however, there are a lot of options in this price range in Uluwatu and you should make certain that you feel this hotel has the kind of amenities you want to use before you book.
Food And Beverage Execution

We enjoyed eating and drinking at Six Senses, but we couldn’t help but feel that this was an area that they could really improve upon.
Yes, there’s a wellness focus, but we felt that there ought to be more of a “wow factor” to the culinary experience. It’s good enough, but not good enough to come back for.
Location & Immediate Surroundings

Uluwatu is a very nice area, and it’s certainly safe and pleasant. However, there’s also no doubt that it’s a bit spread out, and if you want to see anything beyond the resort, you’ll need transportation.
Forget walking around, it’s simply not a practical way to get about, particularly if you want to see more of Bali than just Uluwatu.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

There’s no doubt that this resort is packed with amenities, and it’s where it really shines for us. If you want lots of things to do while you just kick back and chill in your hotel, this is a fabulous place to do it.
We also felt that most facilities here were a cut above most other hotel facilities.
Overall “Personality”

Six Senses is a very attractive hotel and there’s no doubt that it has its own curated vibe that really does make you feel good about being on holiday.
We have no doubt you will have fond memories of staying here in the years to come.
