Aryaduta Bali Review, Kuta, Bali: A Striking Resort With Mall Access

If you love to shop, what could be better than a hotel with access directly into a mall? And Aryaduta Bali offers just such access to Kuta’s Lippo Mall.

It’s also very reasonably priced for a 5-star resort in Bali, so much so that even budget holidaymakers might be able to squeeze in a night or two here.

So, we sent out our team to find out if this was the bargain that it appears to be on paper, and this is what they learned at Aryaduta Bali in Kuta.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

We felt that the hotel was generally pretty clean, though there were moments when we pulled things out and checked hard-to-reach places and weren’t quite so impressed.

But this is an older resort, and the maintenance team really has its work cut out for it. There’s no doubt that it just feels past its prime.

Rating:

Sleep Quality

Kuta is popular for its nightlife; unfortunately, that very same nightlife can become a little problematic when it comes to sleeping in this area.

The bedrooms are generally very good, but the soundproofing is poor, and this area can be quite noisy at times. The property says that if you want quiet, you should book a garden-facing room, but they don’t specify this on any of the booking forms.

Rating:

Staff Attitude And Service Culture

We felt that the staff here were very pleasant and they tried hard to deal with issues as they arose, but we didn’t always feel that they were empowered to do so.

Sometimes, we’d have to raise an issue repeatedly to get action, and we really expect better from the hotel industry here.

Rating:

Check-in/Check-out Experience

Check-in and check-out are easy enough, and you’ll be in a room reasonably quickly, though this is a big resort, so you may find it’s a bit of a walk to your room.

Once again, after the fact of arrival, they explain that it’s easy to get to rooms with Club access, but the others are further away.

Rating:

Bathroom Quality & Functionality

The bathrooms are generally of a decent standard, and the toiletries and towels are nice, but they really need retrofitting now.

They feel old, and the fittings look worn and tired; a refresh could easily change this impression.

Rating:

Value For Money

There are enough minor issues at this hotel that we don’t think it’s excellent value, but we still think it’s very good value for money.

Kuta is no longer the popular beach town of yesteryear, and it means you can get bargains if you hunt around for them, and we’d say that Aryaduta Bali is a bargain.

Rating:

Food And Beverage Execution

The on-site restaurants are all above average, but never reach the equivalent of the best dining in Bali at any level.

Overall, it’s more than good enough for those days you spend chilling in the resort, but you should go out and try the breadth of Bali’s dining scene too.

Rating:

Location & Immediate Surroundings

Kuta was once the jewel in Bali’s crown, but the area is less popular than it once was, slightly sketchy late at night and its beautiful beach has seen severe erosion damage.

However, it also has excellent shopping, some cheap nightlife and decent restaurants along with plenty to do.

Rating:

Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise

We think that for the money, this hotel has plenty of amenities and that you won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer.

However, the pools are a little deep for kids, so make sure to keep an eye on them when they’re playing in the water.

Rating:

Overall “Personality”

This hotel was once stunning, but those days are behind it, now it’s a pleasant family resort in an older beach town in Bali.

You will enjoy your stay here, but we doubt that you’ll be raving about it for years to come, either.

FAQs

Is Aryaduta Bali Family Friendly?

Yes, Aryaduta Bali is a family-friendly resort in that children are welcome to stay with their parents and guardians.

However, children above the age of 5 are charged as adults, which is not very generous, and there are no additional cots or beds available at this property.

They do have a chargeable babysitting service and some amenities for kids, but you should be aware that there’s no kids’ club.

Overall, this is a decent choice of resort for a family holiday, and it’s very affordable for the overall quality of the experience.

Final Thoughts On Aryaduta Bali

Aryaduta Bali is a very attractive resort, and its position next to the Lippo Mall makes it a great spot for those looking to stock up on some holiday shopping.

However, you should be aware that one of the reasons hotels in Kuta are cheaper than in other beach towns is that Kuta Beach has suffered massive erosion and is no longer the beautiful place that it once was.

Overall, though, for the money, this is a great place for a family holiday and it has a good range of facilities to enjoy.
