This is one of the very few resorts to get a slot in our hyper-competitive oceanfront resorts’ “best of”. The Legian also stars in our best luxury properties list. It’s also, unsurprisingly, in our best hotels of Seminyak roundup.
Cleanliness and Maintenance
This hotel facility is absolutely immaculate. The cleaning team must never sleep, given just how much care is given to the small details.
We found the maintenance team were also on the ball and there wasn’t a single issue during our stay.
Sleep Quality
When we pay this much money for a hotel room, sleep has to be perfect, and it was at The Legian. The rooms are superbly ventilated with no noise or light leaks from anywhere.
Once your head hits the sumptuous pillows, you will curl up on the comfortable mattress and be in the land of Nod in no time at all. And there you will stay until you’re ready to wake up.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
It feels like nothing you ask for here is ever too much trouble. That wonderful Balinese culture of friendly service is present, but there’s also a level of serious professionalism to contend with.
You simply feel that your desires are everyone’s first priority, and that’s a wonderful feeling.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
Check-in and check-out are just fine. This isn’t the sort of hotel where a huge coachload of people is going to arrive and prevent you from getting to your room.
They can also store luggage post-check-out if you need them to.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
If our own bathrooms were as nice as the ones at The Legian, we might never have left home to take up the reviewing life. Getting clean here is a luxury.
Value For Money
We love this hotel, but it’s not cheap and while it’s not a rip-off, it represents fair value for money rather than incredible value.
Food And Beverage Execution
We found the food and drinks to be very good throughout the hotel though we did also find them to be very expensive.
Overall, we really enjoyed eating here but we’re not sure we’d want to return just for the food. It’s a close call, though.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Seminyak is one of Bali’s most popular tourist destinations, and there’s no doubt that this beach town is charming, and the beach is lovely too.
Best of all, it’s a great place to explore the rest of the island from if you ever get bored of just being pampered at The Legian.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
All the amenities promised on the website are present and far more than correct. Every single thing in this property is meant to impress, and it usually does.
You can’t ask for more than that, and we loved discovering the facilities in this hotel because of the delight that they brought us.
Overall “Personality”
The Legian is the epitome of old-school beachfront luxury, and it’s a hotel that you’ll not only love staying in, but will miss after you’ve left like you’d miss an old friend.
We hear they have a very high repeat customer rate, and we’re not surprised; it’s fabulous.
Summary: Our Overview Of The Legian
It’s pretty expensive, but The Legian is without a doubt one of our favourite places to stay in Seminyak; it makes you feel elegant and genuinely at home.
The beach club facility is very pleasant, and while it’s not on a par with FINNS, the island’s top beach club, it’s an amazing thing for a hotel beach club.
And everything here is polished and oozing in charm. We’d recommend The Legian to everyone who can afford it.

Is The Legian Family Friendly?
The Legian is kind of family-friendly. This is an extremely high-end resort on the Seminyak shore, and that means they have some fairly restrictive rules if you want your kids to stay with you.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at the pool, and there are specific quiet zones around the grounds where they are not allowed to make noise.
They do offer some kids’ activities, but they aren’t on a Kids’ Club style basis, but rather on a scheduled timetable of events, which is a bit formal for our tastes.
Overall, The Legian is probably only going to work well for kids who don’t mind having a routine laid down for them.
Final Thoughts On The Legian
The Legian is one of Bali’s most exciting hotels, and there’s no doubt that we’re glad to have finally been able to spend some time here.
The dining facilities are exceptional, and the Pool Bar is essentially a miniature private beach club, which is amazing.
We’d recommend this resort to anyone seeking a superlative place to stay and who doesn’t mind the rather exorbitant price tag that accompanies this much luxury.
