The W Hotel is famous for having its own onsite beach club; however, sadly, the beach club is currently undergoing a refit, and that means it’s not part of our review, for the moment.
However, this luxury property directly on the beach in Seminyak remains a very attractive option for many people to spend a night or five in, and that meant we had to go and see it for ourselves.

Cleanliness and Maintenance
We felt that they pay attention to the small details at W Bali, and there’s no doubt that wherever you go, it’s kept pretty much spotless.
It’s also well-maintained, and there were no issues at all on this front during our stay. To be fair, this is a very high-end resort; this ought to be something that we can depend on (and we can).
Sleep Quality
Despite all the noise that goes on in and around this area, the rooms are pretty much soundproof, and that means you’re going to get a good night’s sleep.
The rooms are dark and well-ventilated, and you’ll find the beds are very comfortable with excellent linens, pillows, etc.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
Bali is world-renowned for its service culture, and places like W Bali take it to the next level. The raw ingredients of friendliness and warmth are there, but they are married to an exceptional level of professionalism.
If you need something and it can be done, the W Bali’s staff will make it happen for you.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
W Bali has a decent if unexceptional check-in and check-out experience. We can’t imagine that anyone ever has to wait a long time to get to their room here.
They can also store luggage for guests prior to check-in or after check-out as needed (within reason, of course).
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
We thought the bathrooms were world class and that you’d be happy to get clean in them at any point in your life. The toiletries were seriously nice, too.
Value For Money
The W Bali is a luxury brand and that means a high price point. We felt that it delivered adequate value for money based on the room rate.
Food And Beverage Execution
Food and drinks in this hotel are exceedingly expensive and while we enjoyed everything we tried, we were never really blown away and at these prices, we should have been.
Having said that, if you’re an influencer, you’ll love the way it looks in photos.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
Seminyak is an excellent location to be in and this beachfront hotel is in a superb location for exploring the local area.
You’ll also find that you can easily reach the rest of Bali from here. The only downside is that late at night, you might not want to wander the area too much because it’s very near to a lot of the nightlife spots.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The fact that their beach club was shut while we were there was a bit sad, but overall, we felt that the W Bali delivers on the facilities that it promises online.
We didn’t think that there was anything truly exceptional about them, though.
Overall “Personality”
This is a very attractive hotel and it’s most certainly got its own unique, look, feel and identity. We have no doubt that anyone who stays here will remember it for years to come and fondly.

We would be happy to recommend W Hotel in Seminyak to absolutely anyone looking for a base in Seminyak and who doesn’t mind paying for a premium location.
You won’t be kept awake by the sound of the local nightlife in full swing if you want an early night and you will enjoy some fabulous service.

Is The W Hotel Family Friendly?
Yes, the W Hotel is considered to be a reasonably family-friendly hotel. There is a kids’ pool and some organised activities on-site. Their restaurants tend to offer a kids’ menu, and you can order babysitting (at an extra charge).
However, it’s important to note that the W Hotel does not have a dedicated kids’ club, which means that you are going to have to provide some entertainment for your children that isn’t oriented on the hotel.

Final Thoughts On W Hotel
We enjoyed our time at the W Hotel, though we did find it a little frustrating that certain facilities were closed and being revamped during the time we stayed there, and that we missed out on its renowned beach club.
You can’t argue with the location, though, which is on the shoreline and directly onto the beach, unlike many other Seminyak hotels, which are on the opposite side of the road from the beach.
Overall, we’d be happy to recommend the W Hotel to most visitors to Bali as it has a lot to offer.
