Cleanliness and Maintenance
The overall standard of cleanliness and maintenance was good, but there were lots of minor details that had been neglected on our visit.
A loose showerhead, stains on the bathroom mat, etc., nothing big enough to spoil your holiday, but minor annoyances that we’d expect to be taken care of as a matter of course, nonetheless.
Sleep Quality
We slept very well at Ayona Villa, and the rooms are very much noise-proof (a major concern in Canggu, which can get a little noisy at night) and light-proofed too.
The beds are big and comfy, and the linens, pillows and mattresses are all of a high standard too. Overall, you’re not going to have a bad night’s kip here unless you want to.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are fabulous, and we felt that they had an excellent attitude in all of their dealings with us throughout the course of our stay.
We also felt that they had been empowered to get things done rather than seeking out permission from management first.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
It’s a small complex, you will be through the door and in your villa very quickly, indeed, and we think it would be impossible for it ever to be otherwise.
They can store some luggage for you after check out, too, which is always handy if you want to explore a bit more before you move on from Canggu.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
Little maintenance details in the bathrooms hurt our overall experience, but more concerning is that one of the bathrooms is overlooked by a neighbouring villa.
There’s no privacy curtain or shielding, and while we doubt anyone was watching us shower, this is the sort of detail that shouldn’t arise in high-standard accommodation at all.
Value For Money
We felt that Ayona Villa Canggu is good value for money, but it’s not exceptional, and there is a huge amount of local competition at this price point that offers a similar quality of experience.
So, we’d make certain that it meets all your needs before you book; otherwise, it could pay to hunt around a bit more.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food and beverages are decent enough; they use good-quality ingredients and are made with genuine care.
However, they aren’t all that memorable, and we wouldn’t come back to Ayona Villa Canggu for the food if we weren’t staying here.

You’re in Canggu! It’s safe, fun and the most popular place in Bali in 2026. You can’t go wrong with staying in this area.
Whether you want to chill, party, shop til you drop, learn to surf, or do something entirely different, you can probably find it here if you can find it anywhere on the island.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The onsite amenities are as advertised, and they are of good quality, but there’s really very little in the way of amenities, and you share some of them with another villa compound owned by the same group.
Overall “Personality”
It’s a nice villa complex, but we also didn’t think that it had a distinct personality; it could be a nice villa anywhere on the island, and it’s interchangeable with many similar properties at this price point. You will enjoy staying here. But you’re not going to be raving about it for years.
